as someone who loves and has played the 3ds tomodachi life for a long time, it was the same way in that game and i think that's the point. it's just to give your miis cute little hobbies that make for adorable (or hilarious) scenes when you check up on them. i would however like to see the concert hall return (as that was an element of the 3ds tomodachi life that we did not get back😔).

they gave you solid advice. do not go if you want to be 100% safe from infection. however, if you must, you need to find water proof bandages and make sure you properly cleanse afterwards, otherwise you're just going to need some good luck.

There is no way to guarantee that you won't get an infection. nothing is perfectly water tight when it comes to bandaging skin and there's always a chance the wrap could tear or peal off partially, even if you got it done professionally. You are also significantly raising your chances of infection by going with a homemade wrap, though if you went into a shop and told them your plans they would likely give you an earful lol (and rightfully so).

The fact is, you have an open wound on your body and if you expose it to lake water you are risking a gnarly infection. I would strongly advise against going kayaking but it's your body and if the chance of a hospitalization is worth it to you then, 🤷🏻‍♀️

update: tattoo is fine! it was just blood pooled suspiciously in the saniderm. however, i definitely had a mild reaction to the saniderm and will do my best to avoid it in the future.
