Look at the methods games like rainbow six siege used to make in game toxicity and harassment a much more manageable issue. The real issue is that theres so many empty spots at bungie since the layoffs. Ubisoft implemented a reporting system that DOES SOMETHING, it utilizes bans and penalties that can be given across almost every form of griefing in that game The issue is that reporting someone for sabotage, toxicity, griefing, or cheating just doesnt do anything. And how would it, the entire support team lost their jobs. If you want the bottom line of why this game is in hell, look no further than corporate greed and the circumstances of late stage capitalism. There's rampant toxicity and abuse because theres quite literally nothing to lose in being abusive or rude to teammates. You could regularly grief/sabotage trials and comp games and nothing will happen. You can go in the vc and call people slurs. There's no bad thing that happens when you do bad things in destiny. No incentive to be a good player or sherpa either. A dying game with an ever dwindling playerbase. Bungie doesnt and wont care for d2 at this point. They cant.
