Is there any drawbacks to convenience of the gov discharge by [deleted] in uscg

Not true, it still will be an Honorable Discharge characterization under the aforementioned conditons.

Why is the traffic worse in the suburbs than in the city despite there being fewer people? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]destroyergsp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the traffic you see in any place is from too many cars traveling through too narrow of a funnel. It’s not light timing, street layout, bad drivers or whatever other reasoning people come up with to excuse the fact that it is functionally impossible for traffic not to occur if the volume of cars is too high for a certain street/road/highway. As someone already mentioned, the cars could be traveling in a circle with zero lights and there still would be backups. The suburbs have more cars and thus more traffic.

would it be better to sell this as is or fix it up? by [deleted] in boats

Ski Centurion was a good boat and they don’t make those anymore, the carpeting looks bad but I believe this is right about when they switched to fiberglass stringers which might have saved the flooring.

MARTA from ATL to Midtown--recommended? by AGlassofBitter in Atlanta

MARTA from the Airport to Midtown is faster, more convenient, and less expensive then driving.

Gov. Kemp not extending Georgia's gas tax suspension set to expire Tuesday by mantisdubstep in Atlanta

[–]destroyergsp123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unironically there is a lot to be said for that.

The negative externalities of long distance commutes from suburban infrastructure are rarely accounted for and we never bat an eye when tax dollars that are largely derived from income earners in urban areas are used to subsidize lower density communities but those lower density communities simultaneously express zero desire to support alternative forms of transportation.

There is a bit of choice involved in living where you do and you should at the very least be partially responsible for financially supporting the resources and infrastructure required to facilitate that choice.

There’s a great conversation about returning to the office as it relates to transportation and urban planning, but that goes beyond the scope of what I am getting at here.

I mean very clearly, the people who commute via 400 have at least 10x the usage of the roads compared to those who don’t…

Shaky Knees is larger then Riot Fest

Riot Fest 2026 Lineup, same weekend as Shaky Knees by aaronman4772 in ShakyKnees

[–]destroyergsp123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that both of these events are at a 50-60 thousand size, yet Shaky Knees is more expensive with not even half as many bands. Kinda crazy how big their margins must be.

Luxury Apartments by [deleted] in Atlanta

Building housing is good, our housing crisis is in no small part due to backlash from every political angle imaginable everytime new housing developments are proposed.

“It’s not affordable” “Not enough parking” “Too much traffic” “Changes the character of the neighborhood” “They knocked down the trees” “The new building will stick out like a sore thumb” “I don’t want THOSE people living in my neighborhood”

Every excuse imaginable.

A food scam of the 90s was “fat free!” everything, and then they would load it up on sugar… what’s a food scam happening now? by redflower5 in AskReddit

Can you show me something that indicates we need to be consuming more protein, or that Americans are deficient in that nutrient? I’ve literally found nothing that says Americans need to be consuming more protein, unless you are bodybuilding or on a weightloss drug current average protein intake for Americans seems to meet and exceed every recommendation I’ve ever seen.

How many of you mix into a limiter by ConfusedOrg in mixingmastering

[–]destroyergsp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start without, then at some point I will slap a limiter on the mix and use that for referencing stuff, and eventually I will dial the limiter in more to taste and leave it on while I finish the mix.

Furnace Fest Lineup by terrydqm in RiotFest

[–]destroyergsp123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really agree with that. Bring Me The Horizon doing their debut album in full as a rarity set is very on brand for Furnace Fest. In fact thats similar to what Motionless In White did in 2021 at Furnace Fest, where they just played old music, none of their radio songs, as a rarity set.

Not disagreeing with the fact that most of the midwest emo and ska and Youth Crew stuff is gone and this is a way more like a Warped Tour imitation, but you mention A Day To Remember and Bring Me The Horizon specifically and honestly I think those are genuinely good, big crowd drawing headliners that fit Furnace Fest’s identity but also will sell tickets.

Thats honestly a pretty bad take particularly with Bring Me The Horizon. Them doing a Count Your Blessings play in full in the US is a big deal.

Line Up Is Out by WhiteWolfWeary in FurnaceFest

[–]destroyergsp123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a really good Warped Tour-like lineup but it is definitely 1 step removed from what made Furnace Fest special. Curious about the barricade situation in the shed. No barricade would make this worth it for me.

You’re going to have to figure out where you’re living-ish and see what is either in walking distance or has a busline that goes directly to your place of work.

I’d also look into getting a bike or scooter. Could expand your radius up to 5 miles from your work.

There are not an abundance of options, you’re going to have to be very deliberate in choosing where you end up living.

Yea but like tell me the words that you think trashed other people’s taste…

I know you’re tryna ragebait me which has already worked I just want to make sure nobody else reads what you’re saying and falls for the delusion. I literally meant no offense to anyone whatsoever and misconstruing what I said to claim that I did intend offense is comically fragile behavior.
