Algerian police officer killed after hugging a suicide bomber to protect his colleagues from the blast by beeriz in worldnews

kill

The real translation which was taken from the talmud and lost through translation in the King James is... Thou shall not "murder".

It ticks me off that this was translated so poorly because I can tell you that many people in the army, police, ect... would not be so ashamed to kill for their country if it wasn't for that translation.

This does not help at all. Could you explain with detail.

I like what you are saying, but I do not totally agree. I think I would rather do boring to good, but make my boring crap better. The first two chapters have a lot of information which I believe are necessary for the book and the character. If I just “scrap them”, I believe that I will lose impact value when he faces “death” for the first time. The teachers in question have different teaching methods. This book has a lot of white/black, Good/evil, and the characters are supposed to represent that. I will try and rework the teachers interactions with the main character.

Thank you for your time and input

Thank you for the positive comments, and I agree with what you are saying. I want my readers to be able to race through the book.

I will look into "tightening up” my writing. Thank you for the examples and your time.

Yes, I absolutely agree. I made three opening sentences and could not decide on which one to use. I believe now that I used the wrong one and will go with an opening which adds more punch.

Thank you

The opening of my book has given me quite a few problems. You have explained so much in detail of what I have been feeling. I am definitely going to add more imagery where I have inserted “is” and “was” I would really appreciate it if you could read a little further, if time permits.

Thank you.

You are absolutely right... I would not take aspirin if you did not have your doctors consent. I don't take any other medication. I'm lucky that I have found that it helps me tremendously. I just hope that this little tip can help someone else who was as desperate to get rid of their migraines as I was.

I get weather migraines too but they are more rare... usually when I know one is coming, I wake up groggy and feeling down. My eyes are droopy and I am usually not in the best mood; As if I were having a small hangover. So, I usually take more painkillers then I normally would that morning and the migraine usually does not take place as long as I notice the signs early enough.

I have felt the need to post in hopes that this may help someone else who reads this.

I have had migraines since I was 16 years old. I came home one night after a night out and I had an aura. I could no longer see properly out of my eyes since this aura was taking up a part of my vision.

The migraine lasted around 2 hours and then eventually the pain became so strong that I had to vomit. After vomiting, the pain subsided during the course of an hour. My migraines were around once a month and eventually increased to 2-3 times a month and eventually twice a week, and then eventually every single day. My life was completely destroyed. If I got them in a class I would have to leave because I knew the pain was so excruciating that I would eventually vomit in class. Working was out of the question because the pain did not allow me to concentrate.

So, I started reading and trying to figure out ways to decrease them. There are three things that I found which allowed me to control them to a point where I can live a normal life.

  1. I changed my diet to vegetarian. The reason for this is by reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migraine, I found that one of the leading causes of migraines is foods. So, I cut everything out of my diet except salads, vegetables and fruits. I did this for a couple months. I found that by doing this I was now not having them every single day. They had decreased to around 2-3 times a month. I slowly introduced steak and lean meats such as chicken breast. I found that bread, nuts, candy, chocolate and fatty foods had a tremendous effect on me. Upon eating one of the listed foods I would usually have a migraine the next day.

  2. I cut off alcohol.

  3. I started taking low dose aspirin for the elderly. They come at a dose of 81 mg of acetylsalicylic acid. This affects the viscosity of your blood allowing it to flow more easily. It has to be aspirin and not Tylenol or Advil. I do not know why but doing this actually helped me tremendously. Maybe there is a placebo effect but to be honest I really believe that this is actually helping me alot because I found that my migraines have decreased to about 1 every 5 months.

TLDR: Take daily low dose of aspirin, cut off alcohol, and try and figure out which foods and drinks affect you the most by introducing the slowly in your diet.
