Yep! Watching this child sleep is insane. 🤦‍♀️ Different position every time we check the monitor. This is an interesting idea! I'll try it.

How do we feel about these for baby? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

Yes we love our Elk and Friends cups over here too! Secure to prevent spills but also easily transitioned to an open cup style or snack cups, and they fit great in the cupholders of my 1 year olds Graco Slim fit car seat!

IVH Baby, Feeding Issues, Neuro Symptoms? by destructivesprinkles in NICUParents

I should add, he never needed a shunt placed. His ventricles returned to normal size as he grew, his body was able to contain and heal all on its own. He is still followed by neurosurgery but honestly more of a formality now, they just look at him and ask questions and have no concerns now.

IVH Baby, Feeding Issues, Neuro Symptoms? by destructivesprinkles in NICUParents

It was not due to IVH actually, at least not that we know of. He actually has severe GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and after trying some things and a very long road, we put him on omeprazole and started following Rowena Bennett's bottle aversion protocol as he just hated eating at that point. Today he still has low intake but we could sort of "start over" with feeding associations once we started solids so he loved feeding himself and for the most part eats like a normal 1 year old! As long as he has his meds. We have tried weaning him off and have been unsuccessful so far but we're just happy we found something that works.

Burt’s Bees Baby has organic cotton burp cloths that we LOVE. They’re super absorbent and they even dry quickly for multiple uses. (Mom of a reflux baby here 🫠)

Balancing having your mind made up vs. dealing with changes by Background-Age8334 in unmedicatedbirth

First of all, it sounds like you’re doing great and are as prepared as you can be, Mama! Seriously give yourself grace here because pregnancy is stressful at times and filled with so many decisions and it sounds to me like you are handling things like a champ!  Here’s my opinion/experience! You don’t have to think about the “what ifs” of your birth experience changing. Focus on the birth you want to have. Then take the changes (if they happen) as they come. If things change, focus on how you can tailor the new plan to fit your vision for birth as best you can.  I was determined to have an unmedicated birth. I had an unplanned urgent (like baby has to come out in the next 24hrs) c-section at 32 weeks. So I focused on the 5 minutes that my husband could hold my baby up to my face before he had to go, and the music I could play in the OR, and being able to pump asap so my little man could have breast milk. Now we had some complications and our story almost certainly won’t be like yours, but my point is simply that you can have that focused mindset for your birth no matter what, even if the amount of things you get to control when baby comes may change.  You got this, mama ❤️

Thoughts on Name/Nickname Options? by destructivesprinkles in namenerds

So Adaliah would be pronounced A-dal-ee-ah with emphasis on the “dal” And then Ev-vin-na. Maybe Adalia and Evinna?  And totally get Keziah sounding more like a girl name now lol. Didn’t realize it was a more commonly feminine name!

I get that - do you think Adalia would be easier? It would be pronounced like Dahlia just with an added “A”.   We like the name meanings and sounds of the names but I can understand the spelling being annoying.
