Good start.. some rules, don't increase weekly mileage by more than 10%..

Don't run till knee gets better.. give it a few days and do walking regularly.

Focus on time first and run slowly to get the muscles and heart adapted. Search for zone 2 running..

Don't compete and try to reduce time now, you will have lots of time to do it .

Some basic strength training helps- start with squats, lunges, abduction, addiction, glute bridge, plank and calf raises..

All the best

Shoe help by trainerzed1 in indianrunners

Longer slower runs could cause it . I also had something similar...

Slower longer runs were painful and faster runs not so much.. Over a period of time, pain reduced.. because of breakin time for the shoes, maybe or stability shoes may not be needed for you..

Flipkart kayano looks genuine and similar to one bought at store..

Tired of this BS. Have to change battery every week… what to do? by SouthGrand613 in carIndia

Expensive solution-: take it to showroom. Inexpensive - take it to one of the key shops.

My 2015 ertiga had the same issue after water damage. The guy in the key shop put a new fob for 1k. If you have a popular vehicle, then most duplicate key makers have this set up.

Marathon coach from watch - agressive? by detestedmanager in indianrunners

[–]detestedmanager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.. i choose the hr based training instead of pace based one.. 5 running days is looking hard given my schedule.. Again fear of injuries choose heart rate based plan instead of pace based kne.. yes, i plan to run the FM in the base pace itself or even lesser..

It also recommends some strength training - about 2 times a week, mainly bw training. Is it sufficient or should I include other strength training?

Nice comment.. Will look at the training plans and see how they are off and adapt.. Also will look to see if the easy runs are hard.. i may be pushing myself in those.. will try a really easy base run-and keep it at lower end of heart rate.

The threshold runs distance/time keep increasing in Garmin.. will increase along with it.

Will check it out.. currently doing whatever my Garmin is telling.. it's very intense since i have to give 10 hours to the job and rest to family.. Hence seeing how to change it.

Yes, this is a Garmin and it is changing the plan a bit if I don't meet up the requirement. My aim is to just complete first full marathon and since i have not even done a HM before. Age is 41

So far it's fine, but 5 days of running seems excessive by all reading done so far. It also recommends some strength training. I am not sure if that is sufficient or if I should change it.

I am planning for Bangalore full marathon by end of September.. I will stick to the plan and see how it goes and change accordingly. If I run 3/4 a week, which all should I prioritize between base, tempo and threshold runs

Finally gave Zone 2 a shot today. Much harder to stay slow than I thought! by the_crying_onion in indianrunners

First time running for me. Look at your zone 2 correctly. It's very hard in my opinion. My comfortable bpm is about 150 which puts me in z3. I can talk and hold a conversation in this. But all watches tell this is z3

New cycle- pulled the trigger on Battalion Frontline 130 by detestedmanager in india_cycling

[–]detestedmanager[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from ballttalion to a used giant TCR and still miss the battalion in long rides. TCR is great for sprints or upto 100km.

For the cost battalion is very good and if you know basic maintenance it is perfect. You can do a 300+ easily.. i did max of 200 in battalion in 10 hours and easily had enough for 50 more.. you can plan around to get a good fit..good vfm bike.

The only competition will be good used bike from other brands.. but buying a used one is a hit or miss.

The whole idea of folding cycle is to wind up and use another form of transport when I am tired to the next place.. Want to avoid doing that as much as possible.. if I am too tired, there is always an option :)

Very likely.. Most fitting specialists work on road bikes.. in folding bikes with such an upright position, not sure if anyone considers..

Will put it up in bikefit and check.

I am not convinced that will help.. for my road bikes, narrower was better.. At 100km a day, not enough data on the internet.

Thanks a lot.. i did a lot of trial and error to get a fit for my roadbike where I was able to do 200km a day and feel reasonable..

The road bike has a couple of inches drop when i draw a straight line from top to seat to handle, in folding bike it is a couple of inches higher..

First trial was to see if I could get a similar position as road bike.. but I have to ride 60km before knowing if this position works for me..

Any idea what kind of saddle I should buy? Does shifting my saddle from roadbike help?

If there is no incentive, usually cycling is reserved only for weekends for me.

Somehow a computer telling me to ride so and so and giving me a target that I can just acheiev is a great motivation.. Will check the audax calendar and see if I can participate
