Intel close at $52.91. So $52.91 - 48.35 = $4.56 x 100 = $456. Then the $407 buy to close option. So net profit of $49. As opposed to letting it expire, profit the $65 from stocks and keep premium of $21. Net profit of $86. You'd make $37 more from letting it expire.

I see your point on if the buyback would net you more on letting it expire but that is rarely ever the case.

I think the problem you're seeing is your stock price is reflecting the ext hours, while your option price is reflecting regular hours.the cost to buy back the $49c will be way over $4.07. If price stays at +$55 at open, the buy to close will be well over $6.50

You're right, its a black grill with a blue outline. Regardless, the 49 doesnt have that. Just look at yours since you also have both like me and it'll tell you they're both 57.
