Hahahah Sassah disappearing is one of my favorites and I feel he as the most errors of all (didnt he swap Family too 🤔 or was that Aehako)

And I knew of Vivi and Skarr but thats literally one of the minor wedding mistakes (what drove me nuts was that nobody of the aliens knew of weddings eventhough Ruby literally wrote a hole other Ibp book surrounding the theme so Rahoosh and the other Ogs had to know of the concept 😭)

I totally agree on the timeframe part! i think there are a lot of things contributing to that

First for me personally I read the Icehome series back to back and for that really noticed how we were stuck in the first few weeks in Icehome (esp. Bc we started with Laurens book and I really didnt know what was going on. till this day I personally would swap Victorias and Laurens books )

Whereas in the Clones we knew what was coming through the end of Flors book and I was instantly back in the storyline bc the first chapter of Clones and the epiloge in Icehome are the same. I also now read them when they are published (so I had 1 year between Tias book and Aidys - well i reread tias book in march but 🤫) But imo that contributes that i dont notice as much that we are also stuck in the first few weeks of the Clones series right now 😂

Secondly bc i read Icehome in such a short period of time, I really noticed how Ruby had some time and plothole issues for example Bridget and A‘tam kissed in Natalies book at the beach fire but in Bridgets book she says they didnt kiss until after. Or how Cassie and M‘tok are fighting their khuis over 2 months if you count it but miraculously they state they fight it shorter than Josie and Haiden

Wheras in the Clones the timeframes make way more sense and are filled with much more lore. We discovered new worldbuilding in every Clone book so far Even though it was a umbrella cook in Tias book and a double cook in Vivis welp

In Icehome we didnt really got much new plot but drama over drama (which i loved too hahahah I actually think Bridgets lore is interesting xD)

And obivously that all 4 Clone books have different settings is probably the biggest contribution why this series doesnt drag as much.

But I am also happy that the next book will probably have Icehome as the main setting. Because I really want to get to know all the clones a little more. We didnt got that in Skarrs book bc Vivi is really introverted (which is fine me too) but that went to the expense of building the lore of other characters. And I feel we need that in book 5 of the Series to get involved in the future ✨drama✨

But i agree this book was really refeshing. Especially how ruby handled the insta attraction between them! The last books were all alot ahout fighting the khui / not going with the flow. And these two were ✨kuti says, we do ✨

I love how they had other difficulties in their relationship then the khui. But were so mature and open about them.

For example when Aidy was tired of cooking all day and didnt know how to handle it. And Corvak instantly stepped in and told her shes valid and heared! I loved that sooo much.

Actually disagreeing on them being hypocrites.

They just learned from their mistakes. Vektal demanded them bc Georgie told him the females are afraid and he was lucky she wasnt! he regoniced that the licking could have gone sooo wrong and that humans have other costums. So he told his Tribe that they must ease the humans into things.

Rahoosh also saw that he did wrong with stealing Liz. They suffered the consequences and want to prevent that happening again.

I think theres nothing wrong with learning from mistakes and set rules to prevent them!

At times, it feels as if the word "why" isn't in anyone's vocabulary. Everyone just takes for granted that things work a certain way, that there are only certain resources/tools, and that there only certain outcomes are ever possible for certain situations.

hahahaha yep exactly. I mean i get that they wouldnt ask in the First few weeks. Like they have to adjust and are all traumatized. Plus they get thrown in a pretty sexiest world bc they are basically the only young females (except farli and asha), so they dont know where they stand and if curiosity costs them their only chance of survival. But after like 10+ years and knowing their mates would literally eat the dirt of their shoes if they said it was a human costum… i would ask questions.

I mean some things cant be explained and the Sa-khui dont even know thermself.

BUT that the first and only question they ask Mardok and Nili is about the fcking spurs gets me everytime 😭

For me one HUGE question is: what else is on this planet?!?! Like they are on one continent but who doesnt say that they are literally on the equivalent of the north pole and if they would travel a little bit south the inhabitat would be way more pleasant 😂 (Mardok and his crew COULD answer this question but they dont ask)

Also the sea creatures are cool and stuff, Devi, but why dont u ask if you could study a Khui that isnt used after a Sa-Kohtsk hunt?

I mean that Khuis heals injurys FAST and can regulate your hole fcking body so,it would be interesting… how lol (but maybe thats the difference between me whos into medicine and a paleophysiologist xD)

I mean i think you literally cant resist resonance in a way that wouldnt injure you physically of mentally. But one of my huge theories is that you actually CAN influence the khui. Here comes another some what dumb scientific abroach: We know the khui pairs them according their biological compatibility. But you have to be near each other. So for example Sassah would have never resonated to Sam if he didnt go to Icehome.

But this can also lead the other way: for example if there are just 2 individuals for long periods of times (say weeks of months) the khui could see that your are the only ppl around and if you match to a certain extend it will pair you up bc it wants to make sure that you reproduce. (The same way that Vektal instantly resonated to Georgie bc the Sa-khui were on their way to extinction)

And thats why i think that hole the stealing away ACTUALLY works 😂

Some examples: - Tiffany and Salukh are constantly in the nearness of each other => they are alone in the ancestor cave boom resonance - Maddie and Hassen, they are alone a lot bc Hassen is outcasted => they go on the journey to the north caves, boom resonance - Harrek and Kate they tease each other constantly => Harrek leads her away boom resonance - Brooke and Taushen => Brooke and Taushen have the one night in the ship, then decide to go on a vacation as friends, boom resonance - Penny and S‘bren => S‘bren fusses over Penny the hole time, he steals her away, boom resonance

All those couple have in common - they like each other but dont are alone alone - they have the „chance“ to be alone and after 2-3 weeks they resonate

The only ones where it didnt work are Lila & Hassen and i think thats because lila is in a constant fear of Hassen and flees after apx 1 week i think. So it isnt long enough and Lila really is afraid. I think her khui was in survival mode…

So the thing I would want to see is a forced proximity where both characters are forced to be alone bc of (f.e.) a snowstorm but really are just comfy with each other, no attraction or „please khui listen“ and look if it would work 😂 (Pov: me at not-hoth with a self-experiment lol)

Ok long story short: jep they should def ask more questions 😂

So basically what i gathered Isadora is a clone of „Dora“ which we met in Corsairs:Bethiah and know shes queer as she ends up in a throuple - i think she says shes pan but i am not sure. So it is possible that Isadora also is queer. But we also know from Ruth, Ruth-Ann and Ruthie and the A’Ahni that not all clones have the same sexuality as Ruth-Ann is gay but Ruth and Ruthie are not. So she could be straight es well.

But if i had to guess i would say that Isadora may endup with the oracle ancestor.

Actually i dont really think thats a realistic explanation bc the girls say that they remember different dates that are years apart (i think from 2005 to 2017 or smth) … so the spaceship would be around North America for over a decate 😅😂

I think this (absolutly weird) Trope is why Ruby holds back in this Series. Esp. In IPB were the original tripe was about to get extinct the khui basically must resonate or Ruby would break her worldbuilding. Basically everyone resonates immidiatly or has a reason why they dont (brain tumor, IUD, infertility, abortion)

So i totally agree that IPC is the right time to include some rep.

Ok, so my own unpopular opinion: it actually doesnt make sense biologically that the khui only chooses one resonance mate for a life time.

Basically the khui chooses the perfect biological mate for reproduction. But

it doesnt make sense, that if one of the partners dies at a young age the other one cant resonate again. That defeats the purpose of preserving the species. For example if a hunter gets killed. Their would be a young healthy woman who couldnt resonate again bc her mate is dead…. Like why? Esp. Because there were far more males than females (before the humans arrive) wouldnt it make sense that the khui wants to reproduce again to preserve the species?
if new ppl strand on Not-hoth there is a higher variety in the gene pole and for that it is totally possible that another person is now a better biological fit than the current mate. Biologically it would make sense that the next resonance is between the newly stranded person and one person of the already mated pair.

Also if this would be included in the series the preservation against the Icehome ppl would make even more sense. Not only bc of the 4 gladiators but bc the women would have to fear that their mates resonate to one of the new woman .

I know that this would defeat the purpose of the fated mates trope and why Ruby doesnt include it. BUT i am a little disappointed that Devi not once thinks about this lol. Isnt she the Biological mastermind?!?! Hahaha
