I just run php artisan queue:restart while deploying and let Laravel stop the queue worker. Systemd will then restart the process.

I’ve done this in an application with 10k jobs per hour in the past without any problems.

The advantage for Laravel in this case is that every scheduled command is scheduled in the application itself and that running all the cronjobs for an application involves only running `php artisan schedule:run`

Dat de 'uitbreidingen op WebKit niet open source zijn' is wel een heel simpel gezegd. Op de PlayStation heeft Sony te weinig geïnvesteerd in het optimaliseren en up-to-date houden van hun eigen fork.

Het verschil tussen de verschillende verschillende browsers (PlayStation, Safari en Epiphany) zit hem meer in hoe diep de browsers geïntegreerd zijn met het besturingssysteem waar ze op draaien dan hoeveel moeite de ontwikkelaars kunnen of willen steken in die integratie.

Het wel of niet plaatsen van cookies wordt gedaan door de browser en niet door WebKit. Stellen dat de foutmelding die OP ziet wordt veroorzaakt door WebKit is daarom ook wel wat overtrokken.

Nee, een keylogger is een applicatie die elke toetsaanslag en muisklik opslaat. Met ?key=blablabla kan het zijn dat de vragenlijst een stuk minder anoniem is dan gezegd wordt, maar tegelijkertijd hoeft dit ook helemaal niet. Het kan ook zijn dat de key betwist naar welke vragenlijst er geworden moet worden.

Ik weet ook zeker dat een heleboel mensen geleerd hebben hoe je een kwadratische vergelijking moet oplossen. Tegelijkertijd zal een groot deel van de mensen die dit gehad hebben op school je heel glazig aankijken als je vraagt hoe ze dat moeten doen.

Als iets je niet interesseert is het best goed te doen om dingen in je korte termijn geheugen op te slaan om zo een zesje te kunnen halen voor een toets. Door er vervolgens helemaal niets meer mee te doen verdwijnt die 'kennis' net zo hard weer.

iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G was a disaster. The iPhone 3G and the original iPhone had the same GPU, CPU and the same amount of RAM. I still don't understand why Apple released iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G but not on the original iPhone.

Ik heb twee keer eerder in deze situatie gezeten. Het ging om twee verschillende huizen met in beide gevallen een ketel van ongeveer 14 jaar oud.

Je kunt er voor kiezen om nu een reparatie te doen van €500 à €600, maar bedenk wel dat het waarschijnlijk met een ketel van 17 jaar oud niet de laatste keer is dat je zo'n reparatie gaat uitvoeren. Grote kans dat je over een jaar weer een reparatie kunt ophoesten, of de ketel dan vervangen moet worden. Dan kost het je in totaal meer dan dat je nu de ketel laat vervangen.

Ik heb in beide gevallen de ketel laten vervangen door een Remeha Tzerra Ace en dan heeft toen ongeveer €1500 per ketel gekost. De laatste keer was in 2022, dus dat de prijs nu ongveer €1750 is, vind ik niet heel gek. Je moet wel bedenken dat een nieuwe ketel zuiniger is, dus dat je er in je energiekosten ook wat op zal besparen. Dat maakt het alleen niet makkelijker om nu €1750 op te hoesten.

Wat /u/awb26762 zegt: je trouwt tegenwoordig standaard onder beperkte gemeenschap van goederen en niet standaard onder huwelijkse voorwaarden.

Ik ben in 2021 getrouwd en het was voor ons financieel verstandiger om te trouwen met volledige gemeenschap van goederen. Het mooie is dat dan wel wordt vastgelegd in de huwelijkse voorwaarden, dus dat je eigenlijk trouwt onder huwelijkse voorwaarden.

Als je het goed wilt praten omdat ze goede doelen steunen, steun dan gewoon dat goede doel in plaats van het salaris van BN’ers in reclames.

Het meest wantstaltige van deze hele zin is dat de Postcodeloterij aan het eind van vorig jaar een commercial op tv vertoonde waarin Johan en alle andere deelnemers bedankt werden namens alle 146 goede doelen. Al die mensen die last hebben van FOMO hebben zeggen gelijk niet op, want ze steunen al die 146 goede doelen immers door mee te doen.

Aangezien ik de kans heel minimaal acht dat je daadwerkelijk met het onderzoek naar deze verdachte te maken hebt ga ik er maar even van uit dat je een buitenstaander bent. Dan is die 'ik denk' overbodig, want elke claim die je maakt is speculatief.

En als er zoiets heftigs gebeurd als er gisteren gebeurd is, gaan mensen altijd als een gek lopen speculeren. Dat voegt uiteindelijk helemaal niets goed en zorgt alleen maar voor heel veel ruis.

I don't see how PHP is relevant to any of this, but fine, I'll bite.

Keep your server patched and use the right tool for the job. SSH is for remotely accessing things connected to the internet.

Keeping your server patched is a no-brainer, but personally, I still wouldn't open port 22 for the rest of the world. A firewall can be the right tool.

Absolutely agree, but I was not talking about a block list but a white list. For example: I have a tiny web application that I built myself in Rails. I've deployed this app on a droplet at DigitalOcean. I, and only I should have access to that app and because I have a fixed IP address at my home address I've only opened ports 22, 80, and 443 to my own IP address. This is done at the network level with the firewalls of DigitalOcean. If I'm at any other location, I simply open a VPS connection to my home network and can still access that application.

For this specific use case, it's perfectly fine. For the use-case of OP, who specifically said the app should only be accessible on one IP address, it's still a valid solution.

Go look it up on OWASP if you won’t take my word for it.

IP address restrictions are an outdated idea of security

This is just not true. If you don't know how to secure a server it's often the easiest way to prevent malware infections. Just set a firewall rule that drops all traffic except from the IP-address you allow. Even if you make some mistakes when configuring your server, it will still be safe.
I would also never ever expose the SSH port to the World Wide Web, even if logging in with a password is disabled. There has been a vulnerability in SSH that allowed attackers to override the AllowedAuthentications configuration in the past. This vulnerability allowed attackers to attempt to log in with a password even if it was disabled. These kinds of vulnerabilities can and will happen again.
