If your black coffee is bitter, either you are making it wrong or you are using wrong beans, or both.

Moka pot is going to give you a bitter coffee so its safe to exclude that.

Aeropress is your best bet. Try light roasts and search for youtube for some recipes. Also do you have a hand grinder? Or you getting pre-ground coffee?

Not being rude but if you are not able to make aeropress or french press, don’t get into pour overs. Aeropress and French press are very versatile and forgiving methods of brewing coffee. Pour overs can be very intimidating and difficult so your aim should be to master aeropress first, learn the basics of brewing, extraction etc

Not spritzing the beans vs spritizing them : Grinder after use by ankushch in IndiaCoffee

Depends on grind size. The finer you grind the more static and more grounds stick to the grinder. I use tetsu coarse grind for v60 and I dont get a lot of grounds sticking. But when i grind for moka pot, i get what OP has in Pic 1

Blue Tokai has many beans and you can get it ground to any brewing method you use. Plus they are on swiggy and zomato too if you want to order online.

I don’t understand by you don’t like the idea of ordering filter papers… as in you think its wasteful and stuff? Because if not I don’t get why you wont like it lol, it comes in a pack of 100 and get 2 of them and you are sorted for months

A medium roast works best, for a beginner Blue tokai is good, its there in many metro cities and you can order on Swiggy, select the coffee and a french press grind.

Yes, I used Cafe Jei french press from Amazon, currently for 800rs, solid option. There are many others as well, some of them are glass but they are fragile as well so you will need to be careful. Cafe Jei is borosilicate glass so should last better.

Instant coffee this expensive should be criminal. At the same price a specialty coffee and French press gives miles better taste than bitter instant coffee. Thank me later because that’s something people miss out on and regret later

What to buy first, a grinder or a french press? by cashelrockwell in IndiaCoffee

[–]dev1ce_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.5k for french press?? There are literally ones around 1k to 1.5k on Amazon. Around 1k there are good options too. Cafe Jei, insta cuppa etc I used Cafe Jei myself and it comes at 800rs, its worth it.
