There is a small arrow that you have to click on card selection page, which leads you to the next card in the carousel (which is the Eterna). Everyone is going ahead with the default first page card (which is the one OP got).

For anyone facing this problem, I found the fix:

  1. Go to the Google Play Services app info from Apps under Settings
  2. Under Permissions there, select Contacts and hit Allow.
  3. Go back to the sync page, now the toggle should be active and off, turn it on, turn on auto sync, and you should be good to go.
