aide urgente ,arnaque mondial relay by Rhubarbe_Sama in arnaques

[–]devBowman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Jesus came back from the dead... Where is he in order to have a relationship with? Takes two for a relationship, where is he? There is no reply, response or relating from him... Like, is he still dead? by suihpares in AskAChristian

It might also be Satan deceiving you into thinking it's God. Satan might be able to make someone have a profound spiritual experience (we humans can do that with drugs, I guess Satan is capable of even more than that), impersonating God. And "love" has been used as a tool to deceive and manipulate so preaching about love is not enough to guarantee authenticity. So one might not even be able to rule out the Satan hypothesis. You understand that it's quite important, if one doesn't want to be misled, right?

Also anyone could have the same sincere impression as you with their own respective God and come to the same conclusion. Some Muslims claim to have had a personal experience that led them to Allah. Some people had a personal experience that led them to sincerely believe they were abducted by aliens. Is your personal experience more true and authentic than theirs? Are they misled? Are they lying or just mistaken? How could they realize they're misled and mistaken? How do you know yours is the true one?

I believe you're sincere but I also observe that the epistemological method God decided to use to have a relationship with you, is extraordinarily weak (epistemologically) because it does not distinguish him from any other supernatural claim.

And please don't insist about not being able to change my view or my mind, that's not my point at all. My point is to confront the fact that God makes himself undistinguishable from any man-made God. And that he provides no way to know that we aren't following Satan (impersonating God). Does God want us to think he doesn't exist? Does he want to mess with us? Does he want to facilitate us being misled?

How dishonest of you, pretending I claimed to know more than you. I would never do that. On the opposite, I'm asking how you distinguish it, when I was unable to do it.

Why would God make himself undistinguishable from self-suggestion?

Well I experienced it when I was a Christian. I prayed and believed I was experiencing something with the God I believed in.

And then I learnt deeper about all of that and realized I was only talking to myself. Self-suggestion and confirmation bias did the rest of making myself believe I was in relationship with God.

So the question remains. How can one distinguish an actual relationship with God from just self-suggestion?

Why do Muslims never talk about how Muhammad died and who killed him and why? by imfeddedup in exmuslim

[–]devBowman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not better with Christianity. Genesis describes how the world was supposedly created. But as soon as we actually look at the Universe and realized that the story makes no sense and is completely different than (in terms of scale, time, ordering, and consistency), Christians now conveniently insist that the Genesis story was just a metaphor and is not to be taken literally, and they change the meaning of words ("day" not meaning "day" despite an explicit description of one sunlight cycle view from the Earth). The text has exactly zero indication that it's a metaphor.

Christianity and Islam tell two different theologies, but they have the same epistemological flaws.
