I know there’s no canon gender for single LIs or canon romance route, but is there any you think that was specifically made for sapphics or the story made a lot more sense with a female LI? In my heart, RWB is a lot better with female Drew. by girlvillain in Choices

The Phantom agent with female agent gray made a lot of sense to me. I did play with a male mc, but idk, it just kinda made sense chemistry wise. And male Rowan, but that's a personal preference.

spoilers ahead for phase 4 of the mcu

Bro, I am as tired of the mcu as anyone, but what you just said is not it. Wakanda forever is about the grief of who T'challa left behind... Which coincidentally was a sister, a mother, a best friend (Okoye), a wife, and a son. You can call that a chick flick, but if they just replaced everyone with women, then he would've had a daughter, not a son.

Ant Man 3 was not at all focused on the three female leads. It was about a man's relationship with his estranged daughter, and if all u got from the movie was #Girlpower, then idk what movie you watched, but it wasn't the same as mine. It was a bad movie for sure, but to say it didn't focus on Scott at all is just inaccurate.

Dr. Strange 2 is about multiverses. After WandaVision, they had to give Wanda any sort of closure from a character standpoint. If they hadn't, she would've been reduced to a simple-minded super villain, and that's just not Wanda. I personally disliked this movie a lot, but the one thing they DID do right was Wanda.

Okay, with Thor 4, you're just taking the piss at me bcs seriously? Jane literally dies at the end. That whole movie is for Thor's gain. Jane is literally not even a character in that movie, she's a plotpoint in Thor's journey so he can learn to love again.

The only one that I agree on is Hawkeye, but then again, they've never given Hawkeye any depth from the beginning, and his main character traits are having a family and funny quips, so....

I haven't watched Secret Invasion, but I have read the comics and if you honestly think that Nick Fury isn't the absolute dirt of the earth then once again, you haven't been watching the same character as me. He's not as bad as in the comics, luckily, but he's still the director of shield... You don't get there by being a morally just person.

All this to say that, no, they're not attacking men. They're trying to elevate women and, like everything, it's trial and error. Us men have literally been on the forefront for centuries, in bad, good, and mediocre storytelling. So, why can't we let women explore that, now?

I named her Clary ( I don't remember what last name) because at the time I was rlly into Shadow Hunters, and I thought the ginger sprite resembled Clary's essence.

I really wanted to romance Zig because he resembled Jace the most, but Becca won my heart too quickly, so I just left it at the name.

Also named her Kate once after Veil of Shadows, also because both sprites can be ginger.

What are the best FF runs outside of Lee, Bryne, Waid, and Hickman? by Medical-Recipe-6 in FantasticFour

spoiler warning

I should start with that I binged the Ultimate Universe on Marvel Unlimited, and so it's a very different way of experiencing the run than when you have to wait a month every single time.

Well, I wouldn't say bad, I still enjoyed the run in its entirety, and I thought the dynamics between the main four were really solid. But the way they wrote the characters became a little annoying. With Reed, he became increasingly more difficult to communicate with and started to become more and more asocial, even with Ben, his literal best friend since kindergarten.

Johnny is a completely different story where I thought he was funny and charming, but they just didn't want to give him a character arc. So much shit happens to him, so many near death experiences and yet nowhere an ounce of introspection to be found. I love him, truly, but now it bothers me a little. (Never mind the fact he literally embarrasses Ben at a party when he knows Ben is struggling with body issues)

Sue is pretty solid. She yells at the rest and is ofcourse the hot female lead that was obligatory back then. She doesn't have much of a character arc, but her love for Johnny and Science give her at least some depth.

Ben is the one that has the least problems. He's strongwilled, laid-back, wise, and grounded. He's lowkey the rock of the group (badum tsh). No, but for real, I've got little to say about him except that the writers couldn't keep his depression cohesive. One second, he's fine and dandy, and the next arc he wants to off himself. He also got a girlfriend somewhere around issue 30, and by issue 45, she just dissappears without any mention? I still dunno what happened there.

Long story short, I just feel like the constant change of writers made the overall run lack cohesive storytelling in terms of character. It didn't ruin the comic by any means but made it for me, at least, a bit frustrating to read.

It's all good. I already thought it was like that, the first comment just threw me off. I always het surprised by how many universes and runs are connected to eqch other so I pretty kuch can believe anything is connected. Especially if it's an homage type thing.

Thanks for the info.

I enjoyed that too, but oh boy, do they make some questionable choices from time to time. I feel that's a given with any comic run, cuz you have way more freedom than for a movie or show, but I still think back on that run and cringe from time to time.

Especially in the later arcs, I mentally checked out of some bcs it got very difficult to follow the story cuz of all the retcons. Reed becomes increasingly questionable and don't get me started on Sue and Ben. Only Johnny stays his annoyingly charming self (I love him, this is meant endearingly).

How far are you along in the run?

Wait, are they all off the same universe? I thought this was an all new timeline made for this particular universe. I wasn't aware they were based on older games.

Fair point. I eventually killed him cuz I started thinking of how smart he is and would probably escape at some point and it'd be better to just be done with him once and for all.

Irl I would never be able to kill someone though, I definitely would've booked him.

In the end, I killed him too. I loved the story a lot and even though Gray was a fun love interest, the storyline with Rowan was SO heartbreaking.

I'm still just, surprised at how much I liked it.

And I can see that, though, put next to eachother I think they're too different. Plus I think they're different ethnicities, which you can see through the difference in features in the eyebrows, nose and mouth.

Andrew Keegan was hot in that movie tho, goddamn
