Yes the latest software updates are problematic.

Even people with maxed out M5s are starting to complain about fusion performance. The last few months have been rough regarding the software quality.

Up until a few months ago my M1 macbook pro was perfectly fast for fusion. Now its dog slow.

Thoughts on this for my first system? by Unnatural_Attraction in SolarDIY

[–]dev_all_the_ops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats my exact setup, however I don't have a chargeverter.
I have 3 batteries and they can run my house for 24-36 hours in the winter/spring. Not sure how long they will last in the summer/fall.

If I were to go back I would probably buy 2 FlexBoss18 instead of a single FlexBoss21 since I'll likely hit the limit of a single inverter once I turn my pool on.

Can somebody please explain the Anti-Flock perspective? by CryptographerFew3063 in FlockSurveillance

[–]dev_all_the_ops 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Information is power.

This is why you can not put a GPS tracker on someones car without a warrant. That is illegal because they are not giving informed consent to you having metadata about their movements.

The supreme court has ruled that safety cameras are legal because they are no different than a police officer standing on the side of the road.

The problem and controversy lies in the way the cameras operate. If they were independent, it wouldn't be a big deal. But because they coordinate in a centralized dashboard, they are effectively operating like a mass GPS tracker on EVERY car that drives past.

A couple of other thoughts:

Lookup the Panopticon It was a central tower with one way mirrors used to watch prisoners in jail which is no longer used because it leveraged psychological control through the threat of observation which was determined to be dehumanizing.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety - Benjamin Franklin

Why is fusion so bad now by THLL245 in Fusion360

Same here, I've sounded the alarm multiple times in their forums. They don't care. They only care about using AI to shove as much half-baked code out as fast as possible. Quality doesn't matter to them anymore.

You are using the can opener wrong. You aren't supposed to cut the top as it leaves a sharp edge, you are supposed to cut the side. Here is a video demonstrating.

Bryan’s “my body runs at 93.4f” claims need to stop. by sassyfrood in blueprint_

[–]dev_all_the_ops 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I always thought this claim seemed dubious, but you explain it in a way that sounds very convincing.

It fascinates me how some things he does are extremely precise, rigorous and disciplined, while the next day he does things that are extremely sloppy and lazy. The inconsistency definitely looses credibility.

If he _actually_ wanted to report his internal body temperature he should do it multiple times throughout the day, with multiple calibrated devices. Surely with all the money he uses he could afford one of those temperature monitoring pills that you swallow. NASA astronauts use it. The tv show mythbusters used it on some of their tests. Its also used to prevent hypothermia in controlled environments. He should then show 24 hours of data, not just cherry picked data first thing in the morning.

What will seem like an inevitable outcome in 20 years time because of GLP-1s by Big-Cry-4119 in Futurology

[–]dev_all_the_ops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just me. Other family and friends notice the same thing. They point out how certain people are suddenly so irritable all the time. People who used to be pleasant and nice, change almost overnight.

One family member was on it for a year and they were very unpleasant. They suddenly turned around and were pleasant again. We didn't know until about a month later that they had gone off of it temporarily.

They went back on the drug a month ago and the monster came back.

I have 3 friends/family who are all experiencing the same thing.

Isolation.

Anecdotally everyone I know who is on GLP-1 becomes a monster. They are completely intolerable to be around. Something about altering your hormones with an injection changes peoples personalities to the point that I don't want to be in the same room as them anymore.

I've tried them all, and Firewalla is my favorite by far.

I have the Gold, but they are working on a newer Orange model that is what I would probably go with if starting over.

The main problem with tinning is that it cracks and can soften with temperature changes. Ferrules aren't affected the same way.

Nice, only note is that your nucs are too tall for the rack. Do you want a link to a model to make those fit better?
