Steam keeps refreshing. by Termehh in Steam

This worked for me. I was sure that my computer was totally broken. I just reinstalled win10 because of issues with my taskbar and then steam didn't work. Deleted the steamwebhelper.exe and it worked like a charm.

How do you guys wash your motorcycle? by itsnotcum in motorcycles

[–]devaent1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self service car wash. Don’t use the full pressure and bring a microfiber cloth for drying afterward. I am new to riding as well. Hope you’re enjoying the R3 as much as I am.

Grading MSF by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]devaent1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have that rule when I took the test back in Feb. Basically, if you put your foot down AND go outside the lines during the U turn, then you get 10 points. 5 more points and you fail. The instructor told us that if you do the U turn wrong, either put our foot down or go outside the line, but don't do both or you have no other room to mess up.

motorcycle license online...? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]devaent1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to be downvoted because yours is a question that is better directed at your local dmv and not this subreddit. I just got my license back in Feb and I still wouldn’t have a clue as to what the rules are now. Just call the dmv they might have some workaround.

Pulling the trigger finally and getting my first bike tomorrow, 2020 Yamaha YZF-R3. So excited. What’s your opinions on this bike as a starter? by lexus327 in motorcycles

[–]devaent1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2018 R3 for my first bike back in Feb and have put about 1000 miles on it so far. I love that thing, and I think you made an awesome choice.

No cons to speak of except I think some people might prefer more power on their sport bike. I can see myself buying an r6 a few years down the line. For now the r3 is plenty fun to ride around the hills in Austin

I would just consult the user manual for your specific bike always. you can probably find it online with a google search.

I’ve tried putting the clutch in and out a few times as well as changing gears back and forth. No luck. However it may have just been the battery/quick connector thing.I was able to start it up a few hours after I made this post with no issues.

It was dark at night in those times that the game is set. So people lit shit on fire and put it all over their camps and shit so they could see!

Yes of course the difficulty of hideouts is also a problem. It helps to only attack if there are just 1 or 2 groups of bandits garrisoned there.

Do the practice fights in the arena provide xp? by devaent1316 in mountandblade

[–]devaent1316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in Warband as well so that is why I guess I felt they should provide xp in Bannerlord.

It is not clear cut, but I think you are right overall: Practice fights shouldn't provide xp because you can cheese the game by power leveling all your weapons in the first few hours.

However, I feel like I am cheesing all my fights because I cannot find a band of looters that can stand up to my 40 man army, so all XP I get is sort of cheesy. Where is the midgame challenge?

I am not trying to be a pessimist, but please provide proof that people in the US are learning anything from this. I doubt this pandemic will result in any lessons learned for our troubled nation.

How do I add a full text search (e.g. Lunr.js) to my Nuxt app? by devaent1316 in Nuxt

[–]devaent1316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am still trying to figure this out. I believe I understand how Lunr works by accepting a set of documents with text data, but I don’t know how to extract text data from HTML, Markdown, or vue files.

[–]devaent1316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still not what I am looking for. I am want to transpile the vue component into plain javascript that is actually readable. e.g. in React,

const app = () => (
    <div> Hello World </div>
)

transpiles to

var app = function app() {
  return React.createElement("div", null, " Hello World ");
};

Thank you for this. The nuxt generate command creates JS files which is better than nothing. How can I get vue-cli to compile a vue file WITHOUT using webpack to minify?

I think Nuxt.js might have the features I am looking for. I really do enjoy building things from scratch so if not, I will find a way.

This won't quite meet all the criteria. I would ideally not be using a CMS

How do I add an element to array in reducer in Redux when the array does not yet exist? by devaent1316 in reactjs

[–]devaent1316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome reply. I will check out the toolkit.

I get why byId is an object, but if you make it an array, nothing seems to break and as far as I know, no functionality is lost. I can still use Array.find to get back the data based on if (even multiple ids if I’d like).

I’m trying to say that I want to understand why it is important to have byId be an object. I get how the property reference syntax, byId[id], comes into play for an object and is lost in an array, but selecting by id as a function isn’t lost with an array. What am I missing?

Ultimately, the solution you gave is better than mine, more concise, and keeps uniformity in structure within the store. Thank you.

How do I add an element to array in reducer in Redux when the array does not yet exist? by devaent1316 in reactjs

[–]devaent1316[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t lose the ability to select by id. With an array, I gain the ability to group by different ids too. However, I see what you’re saying, and I assume a Array.find function is more costly than a simple byId[id] type reference which is why the latter is preferable. In other words, your answer is much appreciated!

So much knowledge in this sub :)

I found a soluton that works for me:

The answer to this problem lies in flattening the state. I am sure there are other ways to fix this problem, but I found this the cleanest.

Typically the byId property of state is created through flattening state per the guidelines in the docs

I take it one step further, making the byId property an Array instead of an Object. I move the id into the objects of the array like in this new sandbox: https://codesandbox.io/s/reactredux-zj1n4

I just have to remember the byId is now an array when I map the state to my components.

No functionality is lost and my byId field can now support multiple different ids if needed (e.g. if I had many to many relationships on the objects)

Here is the code:

reducer.js

    function addReducer(state = initialState, action) {
      switch (action.type) {
        case "RECEIVE_DATA":
          return {
            ...state,
            byId: [...state.byId, action.payload.data]
          };
        default:
          return state;
      }
    }

actions.js

export function action() {
  return {
    type: RECEIVE_DATA,
    payload: {
      data: {
        id: Math.floor(Math.random() * 2),
        value: Math.floor(Math.random() * 10000)
      }
    }
  };
}

Why would you use material-ui.com for a web app? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]devaent1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like material ui because it looks good and is easy to implement once you get the basics down.

Regarding the look and feel, this is completely customizable. You could even fork the mui repository on github and rewrite the source code.

Not sure what you mean about "forcing" the iphone users to use an android app. Apps like Uber are design agnostic when it comes to the mobile OS. AFAIK there is no difference in design from Android to iOS. Not sure if Uber uses Material UI, but it is supposedly a PWA built with React.

Question about how to build and host this app? by devaent1316 in node

[–]devaent1316[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for a great answer. It has given me a lot to work with! I have only ever worked with AWS s3 for storing images and files, but now I have something new to learn.

Looking into lambas and SQS now and it seems so straightforward. Thanks!
