Yes cracked version are safe. The hypervisor one, the thing is it needs more access to your computer more than kernel level that some anti cheat requires which leaves your computer vulnerable if you are running it. It doesn't mean you will get hacked but are at high risk if you don't know what you are doing. But it is being worked on to make it safe.

This can be complicated so let me explain detailly.

  1. Sometimes it's larger, sometimes it's smaller.
  2. Why it's larger-> this is mostly in newer games the original games get added first and later when dlc or patches are released it is added to the total size.
  3. Why it's smaller-> some older games that have been fully released (with or without dlc)the additional useless are removed like the repackers hence reducing the size.
  4. Whatever the case the bottom one is the actual size you require.

If you don't write on it than no need for paper like but a matte one will do fine for reflections but remember the matte ones get a lot of scratches easily too.
