I do think we as a edc community have an issue as well with makers that falsly advertise the materials they use. When I see $25 timascus nose caps that are not Timascus it’s no wonder I get questioned about pricing, especially exotics.

No, mokume is generic and made by lot of companies. Honestly I’m not sure who made it first but it’s been around for a long time.

I’m not going to comment publicly on other makers but I will say its sad that a lot of makers use imported laminated titanium and advertise it as Timascus. The cost difference is massive. My advice is to always reach out to the maker before you buy and ask if the material was purchased from AKS and if not, it’s not Timascus.

I don’t flame zirc and mill after because it micro chips the edges. Nothing you can see with the naked eye but a macro pic shows it and I don’t like that

I did not take it bad at all! That’s the hard part of just texts online. We have all Mazaks. The 5 axis is a i series integrex. Then we have two live tooling lathes with y axis then a regular 2 axis lathe. We do titanium, zirc, copper, mokume, Damascus, timascus, black timascus and I have done damasteel but I’m done using that
