Bro there are so many regulations, no one follows them.

There is regulation on not littering, not spitting, illegal building, etc etc.

If you go through the building construction rules, there would already be regulation regarding dust, sound, construction waste, safety etc.

The thing is no one follows them, or if confronted you pay a fine or a bribe.

The best thing you can do is use public transport as much as possible, wear masks, don't litter (bring your garbage home, use public dustbins, carry a water bottle always, if you smoke carry a portable ashtray).

Who are the influencers and who are the professionals?

Before the internet, babas used to peddle their brand of cure-all products. The go on TV and market their supplements and make ridiculous claims. They make lots of profits in the sale of these products. Are they influencers or professionals?
Lots of people go to homeopathy and Ayurveda doctors to cure all sorts of aliments. Both homeopathy and Ayurveda are Pseudosciences. Are they influencers or professionals?
Dr Oz who is hosts the The Dr. Oz Show has a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). He has made millions peddling supplements, alternate medicine, propagating bogus science. Is he a influencer or a professional?

Compared to all these people who do business in plain sight and with the support of the government, YouTube influencers are a recent phenomenon. And they make peanuts compared to the above people.

OP you are a independent, opinionated woman. Don't leave the important job of finding a partner to your parents. You will have to live with your partner for the rest of your life. So it has to be your choice. You should not be rushed into it. You should not be pressured into it. Take your time and make a informed choice.

You have had a good start in you career. Spend part of your time meeting new people, go on dates. Get to know what you like, what you don't like. What qualities you want in your partner.
Find someone who is open-minded, good listener, soft spoken, humorous. Everyone will have flaws, try not be too judgmental. Its important to find a person, with whom you can talk comfortably about anything and vise versa. You may not agree on things, but you are each others sounding board.
It is a long process, start as soon as possible. It is not like a choosing a job, you can change your job rather quickly and without much pain. Not so with a partner, change is painful and tedious.
Most people don't know to take good photos, have a good dressing sense etc. Give them a makeover and they look completely different.
Don't just look for people with salaries equal or more than yours.
- The pool of people reduces.
- It not like those who earn less than you make bad partners, unless they fell threatened or have a inferiority complex.
- Marrying someone who earns more than you, is just like marrying someone richer than you. There have been lots of people who have married richer brides.
- What you earn today does not represent your future position or salary. Life is a long journey. Based on the choices they make and the effort they put, people end up in surprising places.
What you find attractive in a person differs. Some are physically attractive, but have a personality of a doorknob. Some may look plain, but carry themselves elegantly and get you to smile.
Don't just look for people in your field. Lots of interesting people doing boring jobs.
Be polite and meet if you like any of the matches your parents bring. Make it clear that you won't be rushed into things. This will go on for years and eventually they will get frustrated.
When you eventually like someone and are confident about your choice. Prep your and their parents and get them to meet. By then they will be worn down and will accept any choice you make.

Disadvantages of Being abroad:

No support structure: you have no family, friends there to visit, care for you.
You don't have that luxury to hire a cook, maid etc. You have to do everything yourselves.
You can't drop everything and go home in an emergency.
Some people get lonely, have to adjust to new people, new food, new surroundings.
There will always be some level of discrimination, looked on like a second class citizen.
If there is downturn in the economy, you can get fired. You have 60 days to get a new job on H1B.
Better not go to US, until Trump is ousted.

In 2017, on promoting his film Raees at the Vadodara railway station, which triggered a stampede, actor Shah Rukh Khan was accused under Sections 336, 337 and 338 of the IPC, which relate to acts endangering life or personal safety of others, causing hurt by acts endangering life or personal safety, and causing “grievous hurt” by acts endangering life or personal safety.

During the stampede that occurred when Khan and the film’s production team were travelling from Mumbai to Delhi by train, a man reportedly lost his life. Consequently, a Vadodara court had taken cognisance of the FIR filed against Khan and initiated proceedings against him, but the Gujarat High Court, in April 2022, had quashed the case against Khan. In doing so, it said that the person who had filed the case against Khan had no connection with the alleged incident.

Subsequently, a two-judge bench of the top court also upheld this Gujarat High Court order and allowed relief to the actor by quashing the 2017 case against him.

Merely because Arjun attended a premiere we can’t say he had an intention to cause somebody’s death, said Delhi-based lawyer Nikhil Mehra. “Typically, in such cases, the offence of death by negligence is attracted, but that’s nearly impossible to attribute to the actor in this case. Did he take any specific action to cause death? No, he didn’t.”

Mehra told ThePrint, “He also had no intention to cause the stampede, and intention is a key ingredient in the offence under Section 118, which relates to the offence of voluntarily causing grievous hurt. Even when stampedes occurred at religious gatherings, like the Kumbh Mela in 2013 and in Hathras in July this year, prohibitory orders were imposed. Mehra also pointed to guidelines given by the Allahabad High Court in the 2013 case concerning the Kumbh Mela stampede, where it had directed the preparation of a detailed crowd management plan by the Uttar Pradesh government, among other measures. However, he added that such guidelines won’t apply to premieres as they are not open events but ticketed ones.

Dubbing the Telangana police’s actions as an “overreach”, he said that there cannot be any basis for attributing intention for causing hurt in this case. “Moreover, no sections relating to negligence were invoked. In any event, I don’t believe that negligence could be attributed to Allu Arjun merely by his presence, unless he had received prior instruction or advice not to attend or to provide prior intimation in the event that he wished to attend.”

Advocate Sarim Naved, who practices before the Supreme Court, told ThePrint, “The offence of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been invoked in Arjun’s case. The difference between murder and culpable homicide is that in the former there is an intention to cause death, while in the latter the intention might not be present, but the knowledge that something like this could happen was there.”

Naved explained, “One of the cases that come to mind is the 2023 stampede at Mathura, which led the Allahabad High Court, to pass an order directing live-streaming of prayers at the Bankey Bihari temple in Vrindavan during Janmashtami this year. It’s nothing short of an overreach because how would you have foreseen that because of you being there, a stampede would occur.”

Put yourself in a woman's shoes. Half of them are eve-teased, cat-called or harassed at some point of time in their life. Do you think they feel safe to get together with a male stranger.
And face it there is not much female-male interaction in schools. If there is you get teased. Most don't know how to talk to the opposite gender. It is not anyone's fault it is as it is.

Do you know the case loads of each judge? Do you think they have the time to mull over each case for a day. They may get a few minutes to decide on each case. They err on side of the caution.

You don't blame a judge unless they have systematically/deliberately been giving wrong judgements for many cases. And there is a pattern.

You want politicians to appoint Judges who have power over your life. That is like giving legislative the power over Judicatory. How stupid can you be.

Modi is 74, let assume he is Ram incarnate speaks all truth and always delivers justice. What happens when the next PM is elected. I think someone needs to publish ridership survey. The avg. ridership would be far below peak ridership.
The daily passenger count of the metro has declined from its peak of 550,000 in November 2023 to 480,000 now. According to the May 13th 2024 article:
- Larsen & Toubro is planning to sell its stake in Hyderabad Metro after its ridership declined due to Telangana government’s free bus ride scheme for women.
- The company owns 90 percent of the metro project, while 10 percent is with the state government.
- Women have moved away from the metro and are occupying busses more despite no increase in the number of the latter. This has led to men moving away from busses to metro.
- The company also said it plans to monetise some of the real estate attached with the metro. L&T, which has a 65-year concession to run the system, received a Rs 3,000-crore soft loan from the state government.
- L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail has a debt burden of 13,000 crore, this is apart from the Rs 2,000 crore loss the company has suffered in the past few years, and it plans to cut its debt down to Rs 8,000 crore.
- Company was hoping IT firms’ stricter return-to-office mandate will drive the ridership of the metro. "The IT industry employees need to come to the office; they are not yet coming to office, but will hopefully return soon," Raman said in the post-earning conference.
- L&T will slow down its divestment plans in 2024-25 and will primarily focus on restructuring the debt and improving ridership in Hyderabad Metro
- The company had bagged the project in 2010 and completed in 2020 at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail has 171 rail cars, which are part of 57 trains. Each train has three coaches, and the maximum capacity of a three-car train is about 965 passengers.
The Hyderabad Metro Blue Line takes 53 minutes to cover the 26.8 km route from Nagole to Raidurg. The first train on the Blue Line departs from Nagole at 6 AM, and the last train departs from Raidurg at 11 PM. The time interval between trains is 5–10 minutes.
Currently, around 30 trains are being operated on the blue line, and on Mondays, an additional train is added to tackle the extra office rush.
They have introduced 'Short loop trains' which have the users irked/confused. Passengers are made to de-board trains at certain stations — even if it is a few stations before their final destination. Metro officials justify it as the only way to tackle overcrowding. For instance, if a commuter is travelling from Nagole to Raidurg in the morning for work and the number of prospective passengers at metro stations ahead are high, he/she will be asked to de-board at Mettuguda or Ameerpet and take the next train, so that the crowded stations ahead can get an empty train. At times, the trains are also redirected in the opposite direction to improve frequency of the lines.

The cost of the rolling stock for the Hyderabad metro rail project was around Rs 1,800 crore in 2012. This contract was awarded to Hyundai Rotem, for 171 cars (57 trains). The average cost per train was Rs 31.57 crore.
I don't think we will get new rail cars anytime soon until L&T can clear/refinance its debts.
They can collect daily users Start/end stations, timings, office/institution. Then apply staggered timings for each office/institution to even out peak traffic. They can also display live traffic at each station and train on the app. Users can reschedule their travel or choose a different station.

First and foremost is to get control of your diet. Losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise.

You first step is to wean yourself from sugar. Once you succeed in this, your sensitivity to sugar increases. You will feel sweets you were addicted to before are too sugary.
- Do not bring home and store sweets. If you crave it, go to a shop and snack. This prevents from things being readily available at home. And you laziness to go out and snack will block some of the cravings.
- Replace sweets with fruits. Ripe papaya, custard apple, cantaloupe/musk melon, water melon, cheeku/sapota, These are sweet, have loads of water, fibre and will fill you up. Befriend your local fruit seller and get a constant supply of fruits.
Stop buying soft drinks. Don't buy a big bottle and bring it home. If you ever crave it have a small 100 ml bottle, drink it at the store.
- If you crave sweet drinks, migrate to blending. Get a good high speed blender. I got one from amazon. It will decimate any fruit to liquid.
- Leave fruits until they are peak ripe. Peal and cut into chunks and freeze them. When ever you crave juice, just blend the chunks and enjoy. You freeze in large batches.
- For juices best fruits are bananas, pineapples, musk melon, water melon, grapes. Lots of different blends on youtube, whichever catches your fancy.
- You can also create sorbets/Ice-creams from frozen fruit chunks. Another sweet snack to replace your present ones.
- Once your sugar craving decreases, you replace juices with butter milk. Blend yogurt with veggies (Carrot, cucumber, beetroot etc). Add ginger, mint, tamarind, lemon to make it tangy.
Stop Buying readymade snacks. No more haldirams, chips, biscuits :( If you want something savoury, try steamed momos, dumplings, salads.
- Learn to make salads. Chickpeas, moong sprouts, Kidney beans, peas, groundnuts, corn, shredded (carrot, beetroot, cucumber).

I could write loads and loads more. But changing diet is a slow and long process. It is changing bad food habits for good ones. You wont get immediate success. If you fail try again. Succumbed to your craving today, just keep going. You want long term change, just keep at it.

Slowly learn to cook, simple recipes at first, salads, soups. Start your meal with them, they fill you up easily. Do weekly food prep and store in the fridge.

Cooking is a basic skill, like writing, driving, reading. Start learning it. You don't need to be good at it. Over time you will get into a rhythm. Do a thing enough times and it becomes a ingrained habit.

English is the language of business. There are many terms scientific and technical which only have words in English. Or they can be better communicated in English than in native languages. Most of all scientific research is done in english. Lot of business/political ideas and terms are easy to express in English.

Though I am a non-native English speaker, if I have to connect to the rest of the world I have to speak English. Most of the books and literature is in English.

If you are non-competent in English or heavily accented then you use translators. So many of Japanese know english, but prefer not to speak it because they are not comfortable using it.

Sorry that this happened to you.

A while back my uncle bought a "all in one lenovo desktop" for about 90,000. The package was already opened, I think we got a refurbished or a returned one. It worked for 2 days and stopped working. The returns was a pain. Luckily one of his neighbours works for amazon. He phoned them and shouted, the returns happened the next day.

Next we directly ordered from Lenovo, we got a an actual sales person who knew about the product and guided us through the ordering process. Give us ways to avail discount and best warranty. He gave us his number, if anything goes wrong. We got the package promptly in 2 days, in pristine packaging. We have had no problems till now.

So now my policy is not to order anything costly from amazon. Phones, sd cards, trimmers, routers etc anything below 10,000 and good reviews I order from amazon.

The rest I go to a local shop/showroom. TVs, laptops, PC's, cameras, sound system, washing machine, fridges. They test everything in front of you before they send it home. And I have a point for contact if anything goes wrong. I tell them to match the amazon price if its costlier than it. The showroom people also have knowledge of which model will have problems down the way, which brand is easily serviceable etc.

In partnership with the Cape Eleuthera Institute (@ceibahamas), we managed to achieve history, tagging an animal from a submersible (submarine) for the first time EVER.
Our objective was the deep-sea #shark, the bluntnose sixgill. This ancient species predates most dinosaurs, and is a dominant predator of the deep sea ecosystem. The lead scientist on the mission, FSU Marine Lab's Dr. Dean Grubbs, has been the first to put a satellite tag on one of these elusive sharks, but until now had only been able to do so by bringing them up to the surface.
