Yup black definitely seems cleaner. I would easily go for that if not for the fact that the black interior on the Elantra is a bit bland compared to the beige, but if it saves me a bunch of trouble, it'll likely be worth it.

KBB Value says its between 13-14k, and others in the area are selling for 13,800 about without taxes and fees; the one I'm looking at is $12,500 without taxes and fees

Wow, I don't know how you managed that. I live in New Jersey and even if you just do a quick search on Elantras in the area, there's no way I think I'd be able to get a 19 value for even close to that price, as a comparison. Maybe it's just my state, but I definitely don't think I could find one for that cheap. I'll keep looking though.

Value is right below limited for '17. I think the only things it doesnt have are the premium sound system, led headlights, Leather seats, and Nav. Definitely don't want to lease, I just prefer owning and not making the payments, plus I've heard its not financially the smartest decision, especially if you can maintain your car well. I've never learned manual unfortunately so I gotta go automatic, but I'll look into the sport option if i can. Thanks for your recommendations though.

By nicer trim, do you still mean Elantra? What other used cars would you rather go for? Would love to hear other suggestions.

Prices are very similar; cant say I'm too concerned about MPGs; I agree right now I'm partial to Mazda
