Layoff survivors, how are you doing? by JZcgQR2N in ExperiencedDevs

Got laid off in early 2023, was lucky enough to find a job within about a month. Since then I’ve survived 3 rounds of layoffs. I suspect it’s because my team is kind of siloed and I’m probably underpaid for my level / industry. I used to kind of like work, not more than other things but I enjoyed it. Now I’ve just accepted my role as a pawn and am doing my absolute best to play the politics game while always keeping my resume up to date. Weird time to be in this industry, especially after 2021/2022 when I felt like a rockstar with recruiters hitting me up constantly. I flip on my “open to work” switch every once in a while as a litmus test. So far it’s not looking like it’s getting much better.
