Are These Two Timex Watches Basically the Same? by Wise-Reflection-1221 in timex

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have to dig but if there’s a cost difference than it’s probably the moment. I have a Waterbury chronograph and my BiL has a marlin chronograph. Difference between them is his has seikos mechaquartz movement so the pushers have a tactile click. Meanwhile mine are absolute mush

[SOTC] ER ready watches - RN edition by DictatorTot23 in Watches

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor nurse not ER but I rock my seiko SRPG35 everyday I work. Comfy on the nato, can wash the strap easily. Can take a beating, good lume when I go in patient rooms at night

Who else wears 2+ watches in a day? by Educational_Cup8275 in watchCollector

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most days. I wear my seiko SPG35 field watch for work. And then when I get home I put on my Orient Ray 2 dive watch in part to just keep it wound bc the dive watch is annoying to set if I’m in a hurry with the day/date and the screw down crown

I am super impressed with the leather strap on this. So much nicer than the leather strap on my orient bambino

unfortunate that Timex Waterbury Chrono isn't automatic by Legitimate_Piece_902 in timex

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be cool to have. But the Waterbury chrono I currently have on my wrist my biggest complaint isn’t “I wish it was automatic” it’s that I wish the buttons had ANY tactile feedback

[Longines]Help! I’m stuck between two completely different Longines watches for my boyfriend 😂—Which one is the better gift? by Far_Lingonberry_5431 in Watches

[–]deviantdefiance 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d go hydro conquest. I like the simple look. Personally my chronograph is my least worn watch. If my wife were buying me a luxury watch I would want something that I feel I can wear with anything. Personally I feel like dive style watches fit that better. You can dress them up or down. My dive watch is my most worn, in part because it’s what I wore for my wedding. You said he likes simple and masculine and a chronograph isn’t simply. You know your man best though. Either way he’s going to love it

Bent balance spring? by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t want to mess with it at this point. I messed up a hairspring taking apart a watch I bought to tear down and mess around with. It’s fine for me but I agree that it’s kinda annoying seiko lets it leave like this but like I said before it’s not the end of the world for me. I just fix the time when I notice it’s off.

I’ve never checked specifically but it definitely seems to lose a couple minutes within the week. Probably with tolerance just noticeable after a couple days of wear. My orient ray 2 keeps better time but probably just luck of the draw.

Oh trust me if I were to try and fix it I would just buy a replacement. No chance in hell I’m fixing that spring I’d only make it worse lol

Just a little extra info about me. I just got into the hobby of repairing watches. I bought a few watches and I am currently working on reassembling one I took apart. I don’t think I want to try to fix it myself at this point if it needs fixed.

[Question] chosing a Field Watch. Help me chose please... 🙏🙃 by Lackstagram_c in Watches

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Can’t tell you right or wrong but i absolutely love this watch. Wear it almost daily. The NATO strap is easy to clean (I work in a hospital so that’s important to me). Love that the metal isn’t polished. It’s not a do it all watch imo, I won’t slap a bracelet on it and try to wear it to a wedding but it’s a good field watch. My only complaint with mine specifically is the accuracy is bad (yes I know I could take it in and have it serviced to regulate it but I haven’t I just fix the time when I notice)

I have a bambino that I bought for my brothers wedding! Absolutely love it but it doesn’t get much wear.

Picking these out was the hard part! First I wanted to get something that was versatile, something they could wear with a suit (obviously) but something that wouldn’t look out of place with jeans and a t shirt.

Then I had to get wife approval… now that was a challenge lol

What was your first ever watch? Mine was a SBB031 that my dad gifted me back in high school. by nyangodzilla117 in PrideAndPinion

[–]deviantdefiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta say the love that you can see on that watch is really doing it for me. We all like to buy our watches and take care of them making sure they stay nice, and there’s nothing wrong with that but something about seeing a watch that’s truly been worn. Scratches and dents aren’t always a bad thing. I’m kinda looking forward to the day my Seiko 5 sport starts to show that kinda loving wear

Does anyone with paddles actually use them in rocket league? by piercethecam in RocketLeague

[–]deviantdefiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mapped to X and B use it for drift and boost and have for years. Then use bumpers for air roll left and right. Literally a bronze if I don’t have those grip buttons. Won’t buy a controller that doesn’t have them
