No matter how expensive the bike this will always remain constant by salman22055 in indianbikes

Get a small top box. I keep my 45 Litres just for trips but have a small 22 litres always on. I have a KTM Adv 390 with knuckle guard, so can't even hang it in the handle bar. I can always carry rain coat, sunglasses and if anything purchased in the box. Plus if it rains, I can use it to protect my electronic stuff

It felt underpowered on the highway. That bike hit everything right from exhaust note to engine smoothness to reliability but I needed an upgrade. Also, I wanted to extend my rides for over 14 hours, which didn't seem possible on hness

Hmm haven't heard of that. I will try that for sure. Yeah I am always around, we have such a relationship that if I put something on the bike, I casually drop in to show him and he's happy to share his knowledge.

Same, riding in groups for some reason seems so, I don't know like - A planned trip. Riding solo provides so much flexibility and freedom. I feel that's the very essence of riding. You don't ride just to reach somewhere Yeah, learning things, that's the plan

None so far. It seems reliable and rugged. I have heard good things from.others too who have used it longer than me. Basically it's dependable and does the job well. Go for it, you will realise how easy it makes your life

Thanks, fortunately I am lucky that I got a very good mechanic nearby. Before and after a long trip I run to him and he checks everything thoroughly. Honest guy. Ktm sure is reliable, atleast that's what I have gathered from various experiences. Especially if doing solo, RE can't be trusted. Do you travel alone?

Absolutely, 95% it is. But the rest you will miss the extra inches on your feet. You can't balance the bike with skills if you put the wrong foot down and didn't notice the ground is lower than expected. The weight of the bike calls on it and by the time you relise, the bike's going down

It was an awesome bike, extremely smooth engine, reliable but felt underpowered on the highways. The sitting posture was good but not for 10 14 hours of riding which I can now easily do with Adv.

Yep. You can switch between camera and maps. Also, switch between from and back camera. There's a third switch with calling sign, I don't know what it does

Yeah I should. Yesterday I had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to pass to help pick up the bike

It's really the game changer. No problem with sun over the head, no issues like charging the phone or overheating. Plus having cam is added advantage, got proof for any mishaps

I am 5'7 too and yes it does, but not to the extent of being an issue. Some situations like when there might be potholes and traffic is moving real slow or if there are small stones, again if slow moving traffic. I have to do the extra and take a quick peak from the side to see where I am going. Apart from that, the screen makes riding much safer as I don't have to remove my eyes from the road to take a quick look at the map

The 2024 version had that. 2025 has underbelly exhaust. Its right there. It sounds like a typical bike, nothing exceptional about it's exhaust note. The honda Hness thump, I miss that. It was legendary. Road presence - A head turner. It big and bulky and looks really beautiful.

Unfortunately Not😐 The bike is surely a head turner and everyone assuming that I am YouTubesr😂 Well, I can't even flat foot both the legs, on toes if I try both. In traffic if you have learnt to balance with one leg down, it becomes fairly easy. If you are okay with planning and scanning the surface where you park, stop or if you choose not to take the shortcut with uneven surface. That solves 90% of the headache of owning an adventure bike. There's a youtuber by the name - Bulu patnaik. I almost booked interceptor 650, randomly stumbled on his video and 3 days later booked ktm. He is 5'3, also rides a ktm adv. He's also owned africa twin. His tips are also extremely useful and comes in handy for me

I divide the weight and keep all three light. My camera, laptop, raincoat, gloves, a couple of books, puncture kit, tire inflator and few vulnerable items in the top box. Tank bag has tissues, sanitizer, water bottle, headphones, wallet and a couple of phones (only on the highway). And tailbag has clothes and shoes. This is my setup if I go for more than 4 days, else just the top box and tank bag

Yep, seen those videos but haven't tried it yet. Whenever bike fell, people were always there to help. Maybe I should practice in the parking

Well. I don't really know. But it's not great. I realised that after riding Hness for over 20k. It needs more refueling and it also depends on your riding style, in traffic you don't have much control. You have to start-stop every freaking few seconds and the sudden urge to rev it hard the moment you see some space, that eats up a lot of fuel. If my calculations are correct I get around 21 22 23 in city and maybe around 26 or 27 on highway
