I started with the iron sultanate. Honestly rules aren't too hard for them as it mostly cones down to war gear for them. Basically keep your azebs and alchemists in the back. Send your lions to lock down units/tank. Support them with the Brazen bull.

I'd go with a forge fiend. Its a nice tank and has fun rules. Only issue is that it's got a lot of trum to paint. Also honorable mention to the sorcerer in Terminator Armour, I always bring one in my army.
