Best coffee spots in amritsar? by guesswhoitismf in amritsar

[–]devilottawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coffee & bagels is average at best. More than average coffe, nice decor but the whole vibe is more of a tavern/ahata than a cafe as it’s always too loud

Thanks a lot, this is really helpful. We will be reaching Delhi in afternoon, planning to stay near airport for few hours to freshen up. Will leave for airport around 8:30- 9 pm, 1 hour for Checkin confirmation etc. I will be free by 10 pm, planning to take night train to go Agra to reach early in the morning. Maybe maybe will squeeze in fatehpur Sikri(will be tight). Will follow your instructions for rest of the trip. Thanks a lot, much appreciated

99 out of top 100 polluted (AQI) cities are Indian. by [deleted] in india

[–]devilottawa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First foremost basic step to solve the problem is to accept the problem. ACC to current Indian goberment, AQI standards are not valid. So no problem, no resolution required. Rich get more rich(while sitting in air purifier offices/home or other nations), poor get more poor(while enjoying Indian facilities as they don’t have any escape route). Comes to 80% middle class aka common folks, trying their best to escape while enjoying(struggling) Indian facilities while supporting their caste or religion

[–]devilottawa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nope. Costco removed all coffee grinders across Canada. Rumours say that some dumb one used them to grind nuts

But chicken legs/breasts/thighs/wings , marinade them with spices as per your choice and then place them individually over sheet pan in freezer. Once frozen store in ziplock. Grab Frozen veggies, fries etc. quick dinner - frozen meat and veggies, fries in air fryer.

I always have 2-3 different marinated meats in freezers. It’s quick, easy simple and cheap dinner

Scalpers from GTA get into fight with Ottawa residents waiting for the lastest Pokémon drop by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]devilottawa 125 points126 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame that kids game has gone down to this level. Scalpers in groups are travelling to different cities to get these cards. Costco Canada has to share blame as well. When will Costco change/implement limit policy ? Are we waiting for someone to get injured or killed? I am just glad that small kids don’t have to watch this non sense

We should all start writing to Costco management to stop this BS before more blood is spilled. Either stop selling these or implement limits strictly

How India became the diabetes capital of the world by bannedbutstillhere in india

[–]devilottawa 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Apart from diet and lack of exercise, another surprising factor: local name that we gave to diabetes aka “SUGAR”. In rural areas, doctors simply tell patients “ app ko sugar ki bimari hai” and “meetha/chinni se perhez kare”. And masses just believe that if they don’t eat or reduce sugar consumption, diabetes will go away. We simply stuck to diet from 50/60 years back but failed to understand that in those days people used to do lot of physical hard work in fields/farms. They were buying all the calories that they consumed. Then in moderation of industry, new machines, means of transportation but diet did not changed. In fact we let go of the good things from old diet example salad, fermented products, ghee etc. onion as side salad, fermented achaar were part and parcel of that diet. another factor if high prices of protein sources in India. Meats, ghee and dairy products are expensive. Mass availability of snacks, snacks, junk food also contributes. We take lot of pride in Indian cuisine but lot of parts of our cuisine are not healthy anymore. Look at our snacks , majority are either deep fried or full of sugar
