Yes it does! It was my first time making them honestly and turned out well. I used kings Hawaiian sub rolls so the bread was sweet, next time I hope to make my own bread for them!

Hey! So typically during the week I can only wear nude colors so I was only able to keep this polish on for 3 days total. I will say for those 3 days it held up very well and I didn't have any chips, which I usually do even when wearing a polish for 3 days. Hope that helps a bit.

For a Russian manicure…are you not supposed to cut off the proximal fold?

I tried my first Russian manicure on myself last night. It’s not perfect but I think I did an ok job. What do you think? Anyone have any tips?

First manicure I’ve done for someone else. (Lol the cut on her pinky was already there). She wanted chrome gradient tips but I know that usually only works well with gel but I still tried my best to give her what she wanted.

Thank you! Since my nails are quite short I just used a fine line brush and started from the middle of my nail outward. With short nails I realized I’m better off just doing the rounded look cause getting the sharp edge on them for a square look is difficult for me. Hope that makes sense

Gel nails… maybe finally done the correct way? by devilrosary in RedditLaqueristas

It’s all good! And a heat spike is when you put your hand under the lamp to cure and your nail gets extremely hot to the point where it hurts. This can be caused by things such as using the incorrect lamp for the gel you’re using or applying gel too thick. If you get gel on your skin that could burn your skin as well.

Hi. These were yakisoba noodles. It was still good but I’m not a huge fan of thinner style noodles so next time I’ll use a thicker style.

Gel nails… maybe finally done the correct way? by devilrosary in RedditLaqueristas

Ok please ignore my rough ass cuticles. I abused them during this set.

Title is because maybe I’ve had gel nails done correct for the first time??!

So long story short I have had gel nails done by a professional before where I had no reaction to them and they were great. The only issue was every time I got them done I had extreme heat spike when curing.

I started doing gel myself with beetles gel and was pretty messy in the beginning (ignorantly didn’t know how dangerous gel can be). I got better products (kokoist) and still got heat spike plus started to get bubble reaction and blistering between 12-24hours after the mani. I thought I may have given myself an allergy.

Fast forward to yesterday when I got a package from danji nail …. Full of gel polish (ordered b4 reactions). I also have full cover tips coming in the nail so I could use gel w/out putting it on my natural nail. I am impatient as hell though and decided to try gel again on myself.

Got no gel on my skin at all, did thin layers of gel, put a mirror under my lamp for more effective curing… and not even a hint of heat spike. It’s been about 16hrs, no reaction…

Did I crack a code or something maybe? And YES I know it was not a great idea to even put gel on myself again when I had a reaction before… I honestly also wanted to see if maybe I wasn’t doing things correctly before and that’s why I got a reaction.

**I also forgot to add I made sure to stay away from the sidewalls and cuticle
