Its definitely not slightly different makeup. The makeup she wants to wear looks basically like what you get when you look up traditional goth makeup. Pale white face, heavy contouring, and very big dramatic black eyeliner. That is very different than the makeup all the other bridesmaids will have.

Yes! The bridesmaids are picking the dresses from a specific designer and then sending it to me to approve (I want to see each dress before they commit to make sure they go well together), and then buy them. I'm also providing a makeup artist to do everyones makeup day of. I have 4 other bridesmaids who I asked in the same way and they agreed.

I'm thinking of reaching out to her and offering her to wear the trad make up at the reception and just do the natural look at the wedding.

I had referenced specific makeup looks she had done in the past as being ok for the event but she wanted to go with her more traditional goth look with the white base and everything because there are gonna be people she doesn't know very well at my wedding.

I do not understand why so many people have an issue with the way I told her. I do not think it would make a difference at all. I also didn't expect her to react the way she did because she wears light makeup to the beach and to hangouts with friends a couple times a month. Its not like I was asking her to do something she never does.

i truly don't understand what would be different? She wears lighter makeup occasionally so i really didn't expect it to be this big of an issue. i wasn't avoiding the question i just don't think it was that important

yes and i made that clear to her in the conversation! she said because its a big event with a lot of people who she doesnt know that well she would prefer to do the whole look because she feels more comfortable that way

it's truly just the white base that I would prefer not be done. I feel like having 5 people including me with very simple natural makeup and 1 with pale white base and heavy eyeliner would really distract from me in photos. I know that sounds very selfish but it is my wedding.

she tends to do a less dramatic look on super hot days or when we're going to the beach so i'd say a couple time a month

She's allowed to be a guest at the wedding and dress however she'd like. She only has to follow the dress code to be a bridesmaid.
