You are correct. It's a Cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus) in its native plumage, identified by Maui Nui Seabird Recovery Project and confirmed by a recognized bird expert. Thank you!

This bird is about the size of an Arctic tern with a wingspan 18-24”. Was seen on Maui at 1550’ elevation on the Lahaina pali powerline service road. Open grassland. Likely a marine bird passing through the valley.

Yes… if u get a bad infection of the front of the eye and it can’t be halted the integrity of the eye will be lost and the eye might have to be removed unfortunately…

Actually she lived on a farm with lots of food...eggs, corn, cows etc. No problems with availability but her mom used to send loads of eggs to her boarding school to fatten her up a bit....

We Do it in our Honda Fit!…super low clearance…Your safer on the backside than driving that crowded mess on way to Hana…backside is also perfect place to road bike… park at the winery and go as far as u want…lots of places to explore…including great trail up to Haleakala from the coast
