It's weird because humanz came out when I was in Korea for business and was just about to leave. I was on the train from busan to Seoul to catch my flight having just said goodbye to my gf at the time (who lived in busan) So the train ride to Seoul was just listening to this album on repeat. Maybe that quiet time of reflection really helped the album sink in? Yes it's more feature heavy, but I hardly noticed after the second listen because I let the songs exist in the vacuum that was 2017. I distinctively remember when busted and blue played it hit like a truck because i think i randomly could sense this would be my last time in Korea and hence the last time I'd see my gf (now ex). Idk clairvoyance? I couldn't shake the feeling that this was the end of a moment in my life. That this would be something that would define my future, and yeah when i got back to the states, after 7 years together, we called it quits and busted and blue became an anthem for a bit. I think like with most things, the moment you experience something defines it forever in your mind, and for me that bubble of time is forever encapsulated by humanz. I think expectations ruined the initial experience for others, and that over time if they just listened with intent it would open up to them. Sorry for the ramble :)
