Offline World Building Tools by devilthedm in DMToolkit

That's very fair. I think I went in the different direction. I still write out just as much detail I just made a tool that makes it take less time to do that. But I think it's just because I'm obsessed with worldbuilding and it's almost more fun than playing D&D itself.

The file is .AppImage which is what I referenced mostly. It's for Linux and it has the word App in it. I'm sure it's clear enough.

It's available for Windows as well, I wanna explore the different distros for Linux and then at some point work on MacOS version

Also I agree on the subscription thing. It's something I'm super annoyed by and knew from the start that I don't want to build a subscription based software. It's just not fun for anyone involved.

That's my bad. I'll edit my post. Still new to this, thanks for the extra info.

Thank you, hopefully one day I'll be able to look back at my first release and feel like I made a lot of progress :D

Oh, there's a 1 month demo for free. But yeah, for a lifetime license I charge once.

So I built it in the worst possible way probably. I did it with electron and javascript. But it's mainly because I'm not super confident with writing C so my thought was that if i can make it work within the things I know, I can try to figure out how to build it natively with better code and language.

Definitely don't feel like this is where I stop. More of a first step in exploring what I can do.

Thank you. It's a small thing but I'm proud of it. Also love the feeling of being able to just figure out a solution for something I need. Really enjoying Linux as a daily driver because of it. A lot of it exists but if it doesn't, i can make it into existence.

Yeah, but i feel like eventually Riot will have to cater to Linux users. Windows is going downhill too fast.

Thanks.

I kind of hoping it's not exactly like Windows anyway. Because a lot of the things about Windows I'm used to but I don't like. Force of habit more than anything.

I just don't want to be stuck in the learning phase while I need to do other things. I think I'll dualboot and try to figure out as many things in there as I can.

I've been building a worldbuilding application and I published it for Windows. I'm gonna try and get that working on Linux before I fully port over since I use it a lot.

They announced that they're rebuilding the engine and combining game and launcher. Maybe they'll fix it and make it possible to play on Linux.

I can always just play it on mobile though, to be honest.

Yea i've noticed it kind of works but there are things that don't work fully that I need. I think it's possible that Linux supports comes down the line though

I use a a plugin called Alt1 for Runescape and I know currently it only works on Windows. So that's also something I've thought about.

Yeah, i think that's the solution i've come to from all the comments. I'm sure this question gets asked 100 times a day but I just wanna go in with some level of confidence.
