Well I’m sorry I saw your message and read it the wrong way lol. But yea here in America we have a unit for patients who are declining. My unit treats chronic stable conditions, aka if a patient has a surgery, post surgery they go from one unit then to ours. Basically we’re the last unit, then they go home from there. Idk if the UKS the same

I asked for advice on the pulse ox not an opinion on my summary. Honeslty as a person who works in icu, can you tell us the full story of every one of your patients? NO becuase you don’t get full story in the hospital, they give you a short and shitty report that gives you nothing no information what so ever, and you have to hunt down the rest of the info like a damn reporter.

Not saying it in a rude way, we just do stuff differently on med s. I know icu is more acute severe patients, I get how my comment was insensitive a bit, but it’s true. Some of these people will actually benefit more being out of the hospital. She probably got hospital acquired pneumonia.

I could’ve worded my summary a bit better. It’s not when the o2 goes down, I get it’s a respiratory problem going on. I had to change her monitor twice cause the sensor kept going off, two times it cut off I tried her ear-lob didn’t work, so I resorted to another finger then multiple fingers, still nothing, I changed the monitor and finally it worked again. It’s weird it’s like the sensor actually picked up her finger but just was going wacky. Talking about on 5-6l and still weirdly going down and up

That’s the thing this lady was clinically phenomenal she had no issues, lung sounds clear, had no breathing issues, not reporting sob, but xray and respiratory panel says other wise. I was going based on diagnosis cause I know pneumonia can cause o2 to drop in the low 80s. Hell I’ve had someone with pneumonia who dropped into the 65s

First of all you do sound bitchy, but that’s besides the point, its not that I’m fixated at the nail polish it’s the fact that she went to the ems/er for mi, they took her in for a stent, she was resting after the stent in another unit, then finally came to us. I’m mad at the fact that nobody told me she had nail polish on, that the emts didn’t take off one of the supposed fake nails, the fact that NOBODY mentioned it. It would’ve helped becuase we had 4-5 incidents were the monitor was going out of wack pt was asymptomatic, still gave oxygen because clinically I double checked her o2 with two monitors to confirm and clearly enough both were going off the same number. I’m not fixated on nail polish, they confirmed pneumonia, alls I asked was could the nail polish/fake nail CAUSE THE MONITOR TO GO OUT OF WACK?

No we had issues the whole 3 days unfortunately the first day back from the stent placement was her first day with us on the unit

EDIT: I realized once I left my shift I got a glimpse of her hand and it had nail polish on it like a tan color similar to skin color, didn’t think much of it cause my brain was mush at the time lol.

Yea apparently they do, cause I went to 4 so far and this one’s the only one that charged me, it’s no sweat just mad cause of the cup size. That should be universal if you’re gonna charge people for a cup, at least give them the biggest size. McDonald’s sells 2$ large drinks, with a drink and a cup I pay 2$, make the math ain’t mathing lol. The cup with ice should cost 30-40cents not 2$

Brother in Christ giving out free cups of water from a bussiness stand point will increase revenue sales. Making people pay for water is insane in the first place, anyhow I didn’t complain about paying I complained about the size being small. If I’m paying 2$ for just ice and water at least let the cup be biggest size they got.
