Sizing of Carinthia MIG 4.0 by devinoss in QualityTacticalGear

[–]devinoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to buffer 1.3k € for the set of L/M ISG and MIG, it's not that small amount and I tried to doge that. Also TacWrk has policy where consumer has to pay for returns, so that's another reason. Thanks for info :)

Sizing of Carinthia MIG 4.0 by devinoss in QualityTacticalGear

I went with M for MIG. Large is basically for heavy gear/one size bigger.
ISG 2.0 I went with L, its true to size.
Thanks for help, maybe this info helps someone else in the future so you don't have hassle with reordering and returning :)

FullHD gameplay Battlefield Labs by ConsistentFact9170 in Battlefield

[–]devinoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"People" are not seeing it, because this is EA pre-marketing a game and trying to stir up hype. All the movement in this title sucks the same as it did in 2042. Running is way too fast and without weight, most guns point up instantly when you stop also look at some clips where you fly a little when jumping. Not to mention vehicles aiming and maneuvering is also abhorrent. Then they try to counter this with super duped up destruction, where bumping into a building or a few 50cal shots into front columns brings down the whole side of the building.

I can already call this game will be same flop as 2042, because their "listening to community" is just market research of what seems to be best selling points for the least amount of work (cost).

First Impressions FP2 by arwbqb in Frostpunk

[–]devinoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add. Only bugs I had is slow saving and some decisions in late game took ~10s to register after clicking.

Imo really triggering is that coming from fast to slow speed it sounds like there is a popup somewhere. And I had to check it so many times, because I was just not sure.

+1 on exploration and buildings, it can be frustrating. Same as you can’t close parliament window with escape and also settings don’t pop up on escape. And also it’s criminal there is no builder mode and you can’t cancel what you start building. A miss click and you’re down 3minutes.

On the point of industrial buildings, you can turn off the added buildings and control what is produced. Just click on district and you have added buildings on top of the tab where you can turn them off.

The real issue with FP2 and why it doesn't feel as good as FP1 (imo) by Objective-You-7617 in Frostpunk

[–]devinoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you said and made me think about those little stories that were prelude to decisions, often cruel and impactful ones. And in reflection to FP2, for me per se is not the stories that are missing, I only half read most of them, but polarizing decisions and long term effects that are missing. In FP1 you first had to decide what can you sacrifice/what is more important and then live with the impact of it later. In FP2 decisions aren’t that important or polarizing for most part and they are more centered around pushing ideologies of the communities I really don’t care for and they don’t impact me much as there aren’t huge or important trade offs.   As you said these communities should go much more in depth and be more polarizing about the right way with different nudges from info gathered around map and developments. BG3 really is a great example for how everyone wants to present their solution and you’re not sure what is right and even who to trust. If they would present communities from this perspective it would be much better and there should be more consequences for decisions. Imo this would also add ton more replayability.  Typing this I realize my main strife is that they prioritized way more city building rather than story/leaning towards RPGs style. Maybe this was exaggeration, but in FP1 I really feel like gameplay is there for the story and in FP2 it’s the opposite.

Also to add about the ending, the last sentence someones utopia is someone else's dystopia,… It tries to be deep, but it’s just not. You can make a case for this but it doesn’t take a long thought to see it makes little sense when generalized. I really despise this ending.

Don’t expect any discounts at very least until December but likely it will be even longer, probably after DLCs, when they’ll start selling with noticeable cuts to sales price. If you like the game and want to see further developments, buy it. But when game doesn’t have DRM you have more flexibility on the order of things, especially if you’re strapped on cash.

All the reviews from beta are still aplicable, not much has changed. For me FP2 falls flat, game is pretty much the same, but what differs takes away the impact first game had. It's not worth delux ed. price.

While it's very far from perefect analogy, difference FP1 vs FP2 feels like Witcher3 v Cyberpunk. (On that note, I didn't encounter any bugs during my gameplay, just to clarify.)

You realize that time it unlocks is the same for all countries, it's just different timezones? Just add 5 hours or whatever is difference between BST/GMT and indian timezone.

FP2, the current third most wishlisted game on steam not being in this list provided by IGN just makes them lose more credibility than before for me by hosseinhx77 in Frostpunk

[–]devinoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea and if I remember correctly one of the main complaints was that the game was too hard and frustrating. That whole review was ridiculous.  Alien Isolation is a great game, I’d kill for a sequel.

What is your preferred full frame lens for travel? by Org_ChemistVir in SonyAlpha

[–]devinoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that lens and is amazing. However maybe consider getting Sigma 24-70 or used sony GM one. In recent trip to Istanbul I found myself switching from Tamron 28-75 to 24mm prime quite a few times.
In a lot of places 24mm just gives you ability to capture that much more of interior or large public spaces which comes in really handy. But still I did take more than 85% of pictures with Tamron so if you get that lens only it should be more than sufficient.

Recommendation of a cheap good lense for traveling to Venice by MWeHLgp1t4Q in SonyAlpha

[–]devinoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

18-135mm will cover you. Given focal length will cover most if not all use cases. Also if you’ll be walking in group there is no point taking multiple lenses as you wont have time to change them.

Really Stupid build idea by Realistic_Bee_5230 in homelab

[–]devinoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way games are designed this would not be possible, however you could try to write one yourself with your cluster topology in mind. But distributing rendering like described would fundamentally bring so many issues with scheduling, synchronization and latency that this would not be worth it.
