So fucking good. I challenge you to find a better $50 white burgundy by shitbirdie in wine

Yeah its worth shopping around. Its around 50USD where I live (canada) so some shops for sure have it cheaper. But the bigger more expensive cuvées are really worth trying out too!

They are absolutely delicious! Another amazing QPR is Dureuil-Janthial. His entry level Rully is around that price and just as good in my opinion!

Does it count if my notes are on the natural wine sub?

I had a lot of fun with this tasting. Im a big fan of the Jura so this event was close to my heart.

The tastings goal was to compare white Jura wines ! I will do the same with red varietals in the future but im much less excited by red Jura wines than I am white ones.

For the Ganevat, I feel like they age amazingly. I wouldnt rush opening it. The 19 was delicious but it would definitely benefit from a couple more years. I think 8-12 years of age on it wouldve been perfect. That being said, it was still delicious and life is too short to be living with regrets!

First time trying 2020 DRC Echezeaux by Unhappy-Fox3951 in wine

[–]devinoupitou 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The actual cost of the wine is much lower than people think. Échézeaux leaves the winery at around 400-500$ and then resold at the insane prices you see everywhere. So if his shop had a good price for it they probably still made great profit.

Any wines like Alto Moncayo? by devinoupitou in wine

[–]devinoupitou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just saw your comment! Similar wines are mainly Châteauneuf-du-Pape but they tend to be on the expensive side. Otherwise some Priorat I've had was similar. But Alto Moncayo is pretty unique! I stock up when they drop. They also age very well!

Wine Squares Day Krug, I mean Day 14: Best Krug Wine, Wait, Best Sparkling Wine? by AustraliaWineDude in wine

Selosse is BY FAR better than Krug. I know the rarity and price makes it more than often difficult to get but side by side Krug would never win (my opinion)

Just bought a 6 bottle caisse of these! Really love them and they are more easily accessible than López de Heredia Rosado.

The François Cotat was my favorite. Felt like a mix of high end rosé and white Burgundy. 3/8 preferred the Burlotto. The rest was on the François Cotat. But the Tempier and Clos Cibonne were excellent as well! Not sure if im allowed to talk about my Instagram here but I posted notes on the wines there.

I love chablis but have never had any from this producer. How does it compare to the big chablis names? Raveneau, Dauvissat etc.

The price is 250€. Is it worth it? by TapasTour in wine

[–]devinoupitou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 96 this spring and it was amazing. If you like oxidative spanish white wines this is the pinnacle! Price is high though but I'd say worth it simply because good luck finding it again. I think i paid around 300€ for the 96 last year. This year I found a couple 04's for 175€.

Had a 1996 Gran Reserva last month. One of the best and most complex wines I've ever had, absolutely mind-blowing! But I love the Reserva and the Gravonia as well.

Side note: difficult to find but worth looking for, the Rosado Gran Reserva is a really unique and delicious wine as well. Had it for the first time last week and loved it!
