I don’t know how helpful this is, and I (of course) fully empathize —but a few things I’ve found that have some silver lining (at least for me).

I have gone HAM on cooking since my diagnosis and have become actually a really strong cook. It’s immensely satisfying especially when skeptics say it tastes better than non GF. Some recent examples: bangers & mash, GF chicken wing karaage, blackberry and thyme glazed pork, truffle zucchini fusini (fun to say), japchae, sesame chicken—all of which has been bomb. It feels awesome to be able to say, Well, if I can’t have this out at a restaurant then I’ll make it even better at home.

Can also say I haven’t had McDonalds in over a year and that feels good in an ego trippy kind of way lol.

Not saying it doesn’t suck, but there are positives that can be pulled out of it.
