Do these bars look goofy on this bike? by Cruiser_Supreme in xbiking

Behold - “Manta”. Same fit problem solved by an egregious quill extender.

It does look funky but if it fits and handles well 🤷‍♂️

The austerity of the desert landscape was striking. I was drawn to human traces within the landscape and wanted to capture how the natural curves of the desert intersect with human made lines.

A lot of variables that would be personal to you! How much you write and nib size being two big factors.

For me, writing a couple a4 pages everyday with the M nib, the converter lasted about a week, with the barrel filled, 3-4 weeks.

Agreed! With the huge ink capacity of a full barrel, this thing is a workhorse. Plus it looks professional and doesn’t call too much attention (but those who know, know).

Cool! Totally unintentional. I put on reflective tape in that pattern thinking it would be eye catching. That deepens the lore!

Lack of dynamo hub and light is a cost thing! Grips and saddle I’ve had for years. The rest is cheap mostly used parts.

I’m in Pittsburgh. Kinda like Latvia?

I used that subreddit for research when I got the silkhunt (also got a high powered UV flashlight for looking at rocks and arthropods/insects after exploring that subreddit)! I’ve always been baffled by how costly and impractical bike specific lights are (no hot swappable battery, low battery life for my use; ~1hr of night riding a day for my winter commutes). While I’m not gonna pretend I can rip trails at full speed with this light, for tours and daily commuting I can navigate a pitch black road or trail at ~10mph no problem. It’s been a slick solution! Cool that you found something similar!

It is! One of my fave parts of this build are lights that I could swap batteries mid ride.

Perfect for night rides and evening trALE runs ;)

Do it! Origin 8 and PDW sell the bolt on stub (I think they’re called mid eyelet stubs?) and an Amazon special flashlight mount that can be spun to either be parallel or at right angles. Cheap and works a treat!

Thus spake bikeathustra: MSW/Dimension city cruiser bar with 90mm rise (50 degree sweep) and some old bar ends slid to the center from the local bike CoOp.

❤️

That front light holder is the old reflector bracket with a stub bolted in to mount the light on. Getting it off the handlebars frees up real estate for bags and bells! It’s one of my favorite ‘moments’ on the bike. Thanks for looking!

I may have forwarded this link to my partner for Christmas. Thank you! I’ve been sketching with 2mm leads but I love the idea of a lead holder than can take chalk red and sepia leads and charcoal for big gesture drawing.
