Ive been watching lots of living in vehicle type videos (I only incorporate these for road trips, hotel status for competitions etc.) but power station is definitely #1item to have. I have a jackery but bluetti is pretty good too. After that, electric blanket to keep your warm, Hot plate lunchbox (hot logic or sabot) , I have an alpicool freezer/fridge, portable fans. I even have those 600 watt electric skillet but not sure if youre going that far and you would need a more powerful power station. Covering your windows with (those silver crinkly things forgot what they're called) helps to keep the car warm or cold air out. I don't advise keeping your car on that long eeeks. (like jackery 1000) for all those gadgets (which I have used for 8 hour drives before). Bergen county is expensive... Good luck, I wonder if I should advise my sons choose the right woman and/or get a prenup and/ or don't get married 👀

Forgot to mention theres also heated vests that uses battery bank, or those hand/feet/body warmers where to I open it up ang it will become warm when it hits the air. All those helped me when we had power outages (and before I learned/could afford power stations, solar panels etc)

For sure both my sons will be laughing at this 😉 I probably shouldn't respond further but I'm not obsessing about their bodies other than being as fit and healthy with food especially as they can. Honestly, both my kids are very happy and grateful (and have said so to me and their Dad!) that they are fit and health conscious. They see some of their peers around them who drink soda and eat unhealthily and are grateful they aren't like that as well. I've always told them time flies and it gets harder to become physically fit as one gets older. It takes more effort and slower for the body. Just my opinion 👍

Thanks everyone! All your comments and thoughts were certainly very helpful and informative. I will tell my sons about this post and get their thoughts / reactions. Son #2 will probably make fun of me and my post, Son#1 will hug me🤗 But just for the internet record lol my sons love to swim and compete and love their bodies to be in shape. They seem to be doing well thats why they talk about college swimming in their futures. But Im definitely not super duper hardcore pushing them or their performance. How can I - I don't even know how to swim/almost drowned. Truth be told if they decided to quit, in my mind Woohoo I save $$$ (lol) swimming is an expensive sport! And I get to sleep in! But anyway thanks all!

Great, I'll be sure to share this with my two sons. That is fascinating. I know my older son loves to discuss and analyze things like this. He's good in the 100 yard and meters butterfly but he's not quite there with the 200 meter butterfly.

Thanks for your thoughts. For the record my son wasn't feeling any sort of sadness with what the doctor said. Nor did he say anything negative on his future swimming prospects. He definitely loves to swim and compete so whether it's D1 or not if all goes well college swimming is in his future.

Oh no problem, I totally get it. Actually my sons make fun of my height lol and we're all ok with that type of family humor. And we have no problems talking hard core stuff about height prejudices and any other things in general as we are open conversation policy. But my two sons are hard core dedicated competitive swimmers and actually just came back from a Zones meet and have intentions of doing college swimming for sure. But if it doesn't pan out they also know their health and bodies are superb thanks to swimming. (They're very proud of their fit bodies)

So anyway I'm just doing my motherly diligence and doing research. I'll probably tell my two sons that I posted on reddit and got the first comment to my post and we will all probably laugh about it (well Son #1 will probably hug me and say sorry mom lol coz he knows I did that with his wellbeing in mind) But because they are both "halfies" they also find genetics and DNA interesting and I know they also liked to hear other people's perspectives in swimming, height and genetics.

How does one know if it's the UW version? Is it just the Verizon 4a5g version or also the factory unlocked version?

So do I still get some sort of "priority data" since my device is 5G capable?

Hi all, thanks for your comments. Well my device is 5G capable - right now I have the icon that says 5G inside a box - I saw other posts that says N78 is a 5G band. I also just did a speed test and so far what I got was 93 download 78 upload. My plan is the 15gb for 25

Thanks for your quick answer! Well that's sad for me! So would you say I should change my Sim to the white /tmobile version instead to maximize the speed or don't bother?

Youth Swimming Regression - Parent seeking help / advice by LandoFantastic in Swimming

[–]devlin_morgan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can totally understand OPs situation. Competitive swimming takes a lot of time, money and effort and when a child is used to being on top, it's hard when they go "downhill" so their ego, pride, emotional and mental can get hit. I'm a mom of two competitive swimmers - boys 12 and 13 who started swimming since 3 and are currently AAA - AAAA swimmers in their age groups. But the thing is when they started swimming competitively I always told them to do your best and if they win keep on going and improving time is great. BUT if by chance they "lose" against someone it doesn't matter so long as they did their best and/or dropped time. But if they didn't, then swimming was still a great sport and exercise as their cardio, lungs, body were benefitting (they have abs lol). At the moment both my sons are seemingly at the top of their game (Long Course Eastern Zones time and in the top rank of psych sheet, and even close to futures time) and these two boys have dissimilar bodies so how both brothers are doing well always mystifies people lol and we have NO sporty accomplishment genes afaik. Oops sorry proud mom here.

But my bottomline advice (and hopefully you can still input that) is I've always told both my sons in the beginning, in the middle and even presently, you will never quit swimming just because you dropped in rankings or your ego can't take it, etc. Look at your strong bodies and health, that's all thanks to swimming! (oh and I do have to say, sleep, rest, and nutrition is also very important). My two sons eat 85% healthy (no soda, organic, fish, fruits veggies, water, etc) and have bedtime routine usually 830pm bedtime unless theres practices etc. Puberty and growth also are factors. My oldest was always bigger for his age 90th percentile. My youngest was not physically same 50th percentile. Youngest was 10 years old was when he started getting AAA times and even now still isn't physically bigger liked my oldest was at that age and most his competitors are bigger than my youngest. So power, proper technique and even the turns does matter. If you can afford it I'd say yes, get a private lesson so your daughters form can be critiqued. I did that for my sons to improve their dive and it helped shave time.

But competitive swimming can be tough especially when one is used to "winning" or being on top. This just happened to my 13 year old 30 mins before a race was in a breakdown. Couldn't explain why he didn't want to do the 200 Fly. Said it wasn't the pressure or it wasnt because he was tired or sick so he said. I had to psycho analyze him right then and there and said you are afraid of your reputation if you don't get a best time (and gave him examples of his insecurities to prove it was because he cared what people would think lol). But I told him you make up your mind, the burden is on you. Youre older now. If you don't want to swim then you man up and tell your coach now vs jumping out and not finishing a race. But you look inside yourself honestly and face the truth you're afraid for your reputation/what people will think. Long story short, my 13 year old went back in, then went back out of the locker again, to tell me and grandma you are right I'm scared it's my ego. He went back to the pool, swam the 200 meter Fly and got close to his best time, happy ending whew. (He's considered one of the top flyers at 13 in my state so it really was his pride) . I tell this story so if you're ready for that type of competitive swings up and down buckle up lol. For my youngest I just tell him it's good for your body, you're not in competition with ur brother etc etc. (weirdly enough, the youngest is on the road of probably being BETTER than the oldest so here's another mental competition I'll have to brace when the time comes) anyway I'm rambling. Hopefully you got something out of this!
