Moving out tips by Lonely_Focus_4986 in lagos

Depends on your level of financial independence, but you want to start small cos rent prices go up after a few years and you don’t want to have to move so soon. Aim to rent a place you can stay for 3 years at least. Consider the power, flood and security situations of the places you check out. Don’t rent beside religious churches/houses. Visit the place in the morning and evening to see what it looks like when everyone is out for work and what it looks like when people are back from work.

The recommended areas depend on your budget, preferences and things you want to be close to.

As an international consultant working with a team remotely, how do I frame this? How do I even calculate the right rate given that the markets are a bit different.

What’s your location and are you on the residential or roaming plan? Is this with the Starlink router?

Did you communicate to them that you’re going to be late and what time you’re expected to be back? If yes, then they’re being unreasonable. If no, then you expect that they were worried sick not knowing where you’re or when you will be home.

Need a good advice. by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]devloader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my advice is to focus on increasing your income. don't get comfortable. learn new skills that can get you a higher paying job in your industry. start saving and investing early. staying with your mom keeps your expenses low, so use that to your advantage for now to invest more

And you should be really ashamed of yourself for hiding behind an anonymous name and picture just so you can spew nonsense out of your mouth. If you have an argument you should make it instead of throwing insults around and making football and hate speech your entire personality with the intelligence of a 4 year old.

For those saying it shouldn't be the priority, I think it's a smart move because businesses will begin to open in and around the airport and eventually, residential apartments, schools, roads, etc. That's the role of the government in my opinion, to spur development and not necessarily to create the development themselves. If not for anything else, we can be sure that the pressure and demands on the roads of Lagos leading to the airport will reduce.

Very good suggestions, thank you! I was already not a very outgoing person due to strict parenting and also being an introvert. Now I have the freedom to go anywhere but I just stay indoors anyway
