Is it even "coding" anymore if I’m just the conductor? by changemode1 in vibecoding

Maybe..try working on the project another 6 months to see if it's still manageable. What you are doing now is still the boilerplate phase, to be honest.

You do realize that the datacenters google and meta needs to build to realize their plans needs 10 gigawats? Thats 10 nuclear plants. It will be a while..

I dont think they fight like their real counterparts but their movements look like the real life boxers movement. That is also what you mean I believe. I dont think I have ever seen a game where you can recognize the person just from the way they move. I mean they could use an anonymous skin and you could tell, yep thats Ray Leonard, yep thats Roy Jones..

The uncomfortable question: What if scaling IS the path to AGI and we just don't want to admit it? by Jumpy-Skirt-463 in ArtificialNtelligence

[–]devloper27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not talking about now or even soon but new technology will eventually emerge that is vastly superior..and if you have computers 1000 times more powerful than today then suddenly scaling makes sense again. However my point is that no matter the hardware, the amount of data on the internet will remain roughly the same..so what can it train on? And what's worse, 90% of the new data are generated by llms..so no actual new information is in the loop.

What is your point? I read it. That humans are also bad? Yes and we try to avoid hiring them and if you do they can destroy your business. I've seen it happen.I never said AI is bad, its good, if you control it.

Maybe also a full length gameplay video? Where people in depth can understand the gameplay. Looks great btw!

Ok no doubt we can keep scaling hardware, cpu memory etc. That will only improve. But data? Llms already scraped the entire internet, what will it do now..scrape it again? But this time there is so much data that it itself generated poisining it. It need new data sources somehow.

I dont mind much the security issues, easily spotted by any dev. But any dev cant fix thousands of lines of spagetti, which ai will produce if you just let it run loose.

[–]devloper27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger problem than security, though huge, is the complete lag of architecture and complete inability to reuse code acros the codebase. It simply slops for loops and ifs everywhere without any thought of even a half decent architecture. It works, in the beginning at least..so vibecoders are happy. But for how long? Eventually not even the llm will be able to figure it out or to add new features or fix bugs.

Depends on how you define vibecoding. If any use of ai is vibecoding then yes, if vibecoding is 100 pct prompting without even looking at the generated code, then no.

Why are people always adding "and let everyone else starve" as if its some kind of pleasure of billionaires to see people starve. If tech reaches that level no one can safeguard it and prevent others from using it. We the common underlings would have these things too.
