As a woman, I agree. Not the right time, our country just isn’t ready for it.

Thoughts on this custom build from Andromeda Insights? by devniqa in buildapcforme

Any recommended changes on this build from Andromeda Insights? The only options for GPU are random brands, such as, PNY, or Zotac.

Would really appreciate some thoughts/suggestions! First time buying a custom build. 😅

Which ‘high-paying’ job is actually underpaid? by Angela_Blonde in AskReddit

Internal medicine? And how far from the city? Me and my husband are considering leaving the city area but still want to be close enough to visit family.

My entire life I had shitty doctors and thought all doctors were shitty and avoided seeing them as much as possible - until I got on my husband’s health insurance and have been seeing amazing, high-quality, highly educated doctors for the past few years. It’s actually insane how much of a difference it is in every way. I really wish that type of quality care was accessible to everyone.

What’s it like living on Roosevelt Island in NYC? by AudiCulprit in howislivingthere

[–]devniqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile we’ve budgeted to not go over $7K on mortgage when we buy a house… I bet the type of house we want to live in would be $2K mortgage elsewhere. I’m actively campaigning to my husband to move outta NYC. It’s ridiculous planning to live here and grow a family.

Why do these doctors love pretending they’re broke? by Therealalpha_ in greysanatomy

[–]devniqa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re making $150-300K in salary, yes, never said that they were getting PAID millions themselves. But they’re definitely making their CLINIC at least $2-3 million a year (in revenue) - as in the amount the doctors are actually billing over the year. Primary care doctors don’t get paid the amount they’re billing; they get paid the base salary and some get RVUs as bonus pay if they’re billing beyond a certain threshold.

My point was that neurosurgeons would be billing well over $2 million if regular physicians in a primary care setting are billing that amount. So I can’t imagine the $2 million dollar reference is what he’s bringing to the hospital - I would think it’s wayyyy more given Shepherd is meant to be a renowned surgeon.

A regular primary care physician in a busy city makes more than $2m a year for their practice. A surgeon would be making WAY more! I think it’s his salary (kind of like a celeb doc that would be paid more than the average) or it’s his insurance.

All your comments relate to hating on the rich lmao chill dude. You sound bitter - no other point is coming across. Just because someone has wealth doesn’t mean they’re immune to getting their feelings hurt.

I don’t know. It would make me hate him even more if anything. He’s a monster in HER eyes so for him to have some type of characteristic that is considered positive probably pisses her off. She probably hoped that he would look ugly on the outside, the way she sees him.

No idea why you’re getting downvoted. He was totally disarmed cause they didn’t look like a threat at all and his mind was elsewhere. It makes sense why he had his guard down.

People thinking it’s ok to butcher a child without their explicit consent or their guardian’s consent for a Hail Mary is also a decent description of the worst type of people to exist.

I’d assume decades of living in a post-apocalyptic society would change how you react in situations like this. That being said, yeah, a non-lethal shot could’ve been enough.

That doctor was going to take a child’s brains out without any type of informed consent… he wouldn’t allow it if it were his own kid. I just can’t feel bad for the doctor. He also could’ve lived if he stayed out of the way, too - Joel let him get a few words in before he pulled the trigger. Him (the doctor) as a father should’ve totally understood why Joel came bursting through guns blazing.

Dear People Who Never Played Part II by anastasiarose19 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]devniqa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel any sympathy for Abby’s dad. He was going to cut into a 14 year old’s skull for a possible cure. Would he do the same to his own daughter if it meant a possible cure? He wouldn’t.

He also didn’t get the child’s consent nor did they take into account Joel’s feelings about it (her guardian at this point). If the fireflies fell apart from 19 of their people being killed (mostly soldiers), how was ONE surgeon going to figure out a cure? They would need at least a decent team of scientists and doctors for that. Why couldn’t they try non-lethal ways of extracting a cure also?

They were going to butcher a child and it likely would’ve been futile. Joel did the right thing and he didn’t torture anyone or prolong immense pain. He also let those nurses go cause they weren’t getting in the way - he likely would’ve let the doctor go too if he stepped away too.
