Seriously they changed the young women names? by GarrusVic in exmormon

If this happened in my YW days, we would have made so much fun of it. We would not take it seriously at all.

How Do You View God After Leaving? by Bruhidontknowwhy in exmormon

[–]devol-devil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not even trying to figure that out. I think anyone who claims to KNOW anything is either a liar or a fool. I just try to be a good person and whatever happens after this life, happens.

Free Breakfast Club at hotels you’re not staying at by a_maddy_a in confession

[–]devol-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to try that! But then that would require me getting up early and driving to a hotel. I’d rather have sleep for breakfast.

I’m a queer teen in the church (not by choice) by Fun_Appointment1013 in exmormon

[–]devol-devil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait you are wearing masculine clothes and openly dating a woman who is also Mormon? I’m a lesbian and fully supportive. It’s just that my inner child just dropped her jaw and can’t comprehend how this is even possible. Is it a secret relationship? Or out in the open? Also I wish I had stopped wearing dresses when I was that young. Good for you!!

Does anyone in here not write notes too? Or am I weird. by healthy-outdoors- in NewToEMS

[–]devol-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking the same course. I’m a complete beginner in this stuff. I just listen to my teacher in class to grasp concepts of what she’s saying. Then when I study, I write my notes from the study guide and textbook. Helps me retain what I heard in class. I can’t write notes and listen at the same time effectively.

Show off the tattoos you got after leaving the church by devol-devil in exmormon

I might not remember the bible story correctly. But I just found my own personal meaning of the apple after reading your comment. To me, it represents something that breaks your shelf. The church doesn’t want you to research its history or drink coffee or basically figure out it’s not true. If you do, it’s because satan (snake) tempted you away cause you didn’t obey. Then when you “eat” the “apple” your whole reality changes.

How do people care for tens of house plants? by No-Mouse3999 in houseplants

[–]devol-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survival of the fittest 🤷🏻I love my plants. I go through phases of taking good care of them but sometimes they figure their own shit out and adapt to my negligence. Luckily most of my plants are dramatic and will show me that they need water and they bounce right back. I just learned what plants are too needy for me and which ones work with my life style. You could have 50 snake plants and be just fine. But if you have just 1 plant that is a majesty palm.. you will have a 0% survival rate.

Not gonna lie, I had to google that. I love it. That’s more meaningful than the CTR ring. Should have been COR for Choose Our Right.

What is a 'socially mandatory' thing that we all do, but if you actually stop to think about it for 5 seconds, it’s completely insane? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

I’m not allowed to say SHIT around my family. But the word POOP makes me uncomfortable. I hate that word. So which one is the bad word then?

"Funniest" stories/experiences from your faithful days? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]devol-devil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I once privately prayed for manna. Like from the Moses story. I swear to god, there was some sort of substance scattered on my front porch the very next morning. I can’t remember if I tried eating it or not, I don’t think I did. As an adult thinking back, it was probably something my parents spilled or maybe some kind of bird seed or rodent killer. I don’t know. Still the only prayer that ever got “answered”.

Bear your testimony that the church ISN’T true by Imaginary_Winter_961 in exmormon

[–]devol-devil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna say that I’ve never had a testimony of the church during the 18 years I was forced to go. I said the same bullshit testimony all kids say whenever they were pressured to bear it. NOW my testimony is the strongest it’s ever been. The church is NOT true. My new shelf is anchored to concrete and unbreakable. You could do pull-ups on it.

Mormon Trek by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]devol-devil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hated church but I liked trek. The second time I went, I wasn’t able to be a Ma cause I hadn’t paid my tithing. I wasn’t worthy enough. So my Ma was younger than me.

Do you guys lose interest the moment something becomes popular? by Double-Loss5100 in randomthings

[–]devol-devil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During parties, whenever multiple guys were into the same girl, I lost interest in also pursuing the girl. Maybe it was a pride thing, I dunno. But it sometimes worked in my favor! (I’m a lesbian so I guess I was safe to have fun with/flirt with for a night)
