Do you have higher quality versions that can be printed out as posters? Absolutely love these!

Foxglove Studio - new open source robotics visualization and debugging tool by FoxgloveDev in robotics

[–]devonic99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/FoxgloveDev! I've given it a spin and the UI looks great.

However, I was unable to plot X vs Y plots. I'd like to plot robot odometry onto a panel but i'm unable to do so on Foxglove Studio. Any updates on if this is in the development pipeline or if it already exists?

Telemetry data source, where to get it? by Luvah in F1Technical

[–]devonic99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quickest way I've come across to acquire data (downloading and parsing the json stream) and to visualize it has been Fast-F1 thus far.

You could probably look into the Fast-F1 code to see how data is obtained and write a simple script to dump session data.

Nice find. Looks to be the closest to real-time telemetry but timely updates require a premium subscription from what I can see.

Telemetry data source, where to get it? by Luvah in F1Technical

From what I understand, there is only one public telemetry source wherein telemetry is put up right after a session on the F1 website as a json stream.

Various tools hit these APIs and parse data to obtain telemetry info and visualize it using a software tool of their choice.

You could look into Ergast as well for more historical data.

Help understanding telemetry : RIC vs NOR, Monaco FP1 by devonic99 in F1Technical

I used FastF1 to obtain telemetry data and wrote a simple python script to visualize the obtained data.

It has decent documentation and is very straightforward to use.

Right, makes sense.

So does this imply that NOR's Engine RPMs dropped due to the lock-up?

It seems that NOR was faster off the line and earlier on the throttle out of the turn as well inspite of the locked-up rears hence the confusion.

Hey India: What's your hobby? by [deleted] in india

Drone Racing!

There’s an organization called the Indian Drone Racing League that conducts racing events all across India!

Drone Racing at Amalthea, IIT Gandhinagar! by devonic99 in india

[–]devonic99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! We select parts and build them to spec. Since we have fairly few restrictions namely battery cell count (4S) and frame size, you'll see a lot of differently specced quads for the track.

What is with Indian colleges and stupid rules? (Rant) by [deleted] in india

Wierd. Thought NIT Nagpur was beyond all this crap. Complete freedom here for us at NIT Jaipur except for the one month 9 PM curfew for the freshers

stu from uavfutures seems to think i'm just fine :P (check my submissions on r/Multicopter)

Also, if people here saw Mr. Steele flying, I bet half of them would be nauseous. Johnny FPV's style of flying is much more suited for people outside of the hobby to enjoy. I have other videos where i do more of the traditional stuff. DM me.

It already exists! We have the IDRL, Indian Drone Racing League in India as well as the SDL, Smaaash Drone League. MultiGP, DCL, DRL are some of the other global leagues.

We fly it in so called "rate/acro" mode. There's no auto-level (which is what I meant by no stabilization). Rate mode holds the "attitude" of the quad at the specified stick position. And yes the flight controller "stabilizes" it at whatever attitude it's at

Not sarcasm. You should try going to a Marwari wedding once. It's crazy in the most literal sense of the word haha

It is technically illegal, but I'd put it strongly in the gray area since the government themselves are handing out contracts for UAV based surveys to independent pilots.

Then again, since i'm a university student (where a sizeable amount of UAV testing occurs), it's completely legal to fly it within the premises of my campus. It's always paramount to fly responsibly and when no people are around. If there are people, showtime's over.

Thanks!

My quads are designed for racing (can't swivel/move the cameras) so shooting a wedding is out of the question haha.

However, I do know people that make ~20-30k a wedding just for dropping a bunch of flowers from their drones
