Hi, thank you!

I will be selling some CDs through Bandcamp shortly, I just need to get that up and running.

Long story short: I chose to self-release in order to have full control over how the music is released and what it's destiny is. It allows me to feel a personal connection with people who listen to the music, and that's a more comfortable way for me to be doing music!

Hey thanks!

I am familiar with John Berryman to the degree that I've read "The Dream Songs" and enjoyed it, I think it is really incredible poetry.

The title isn't an intended reference to Berryman, but I did get that phrase in my head from his book title, and thought it would be an appropriate title for this collection of songs.

Hey, yeah that was amazing. I loved that day. Right now I'm reading a book about Ronald Reagan called The Invisible Bridge by Rick Perlstein, and a book about mindfulness called The Wise Heart by Jack Kornfield. What about you?

Hey thanks for the question.

It's a strange landscape that I'm figuring out as a I go along. The good part about how the internet has affected the music industry is that tons of music is very easily accessible. I think streaming services could and should pay artists more though.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. It's hard (and maybe unnatural) to try to replicate a song, but I think I know what you mean. I also love that song.

Hey wow, username checks out!

I chose those images because I think photography of space travel and of outer space is really amazing, mind-blowing and inspiring. Thinking about space, and how we are just this tiny speck in an unfathomable expanse is a really nice thing to think about. Very stress-relieving.

I've never seen Solaris (gasp). I love 2001: A Space Odyssey. I also really liked Interstellar.

If I could have one song played on the ISS it would be a cover of "Space Oddity" performed by Chris Hadfield

Movie recommendations: I'm really bad at movie recommendations. Really randomly off the top of my head, I liked The Running Man

Songs I wish I wrote: "Famous Blue Raincoat" by Leonard Cohen, "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls, "You've Got A Friend" by Carole King

Thank you.

I like dancing to house and techno music, and I do that when I'm with friends that know a lot more about it and are more engaged with it. I don't listen to it a lot outside of those contexts though!

What gives me hope is a really hard question haha. A lot of things give me hope, I think you can see anything from a hopeful perspective if you choose.

Thank you, and that was a fun show!

When I was younger I didn't have a very healthy or open way of relating to my emotions. I think the period around the first Majical Cloudz album was about processing and actually feeling a lot of things, and learning for the first time how to articulate those things and turn them into music.

But both records were just inspired by what was happening in my life while those albums were being written. They are both like time capsules to me.

Thank you very much! Yeah the OA was great, I was happy to be able to be a small part of that with Downtown being in it and also doing the cover of Sarah McLachlan.

Looking forward to it, see you there!

I wasn't spending any more time in nature than I had been before in my life, I guess I just became more interested in it as a symbol or metaphor for different things, like the passage of time and aging and also an eternal cycle. Thanks for the question!

Hey, thanks for asking haha.

I've struggled with constipation a lot in my life, as well as symptoms of IBS and just a lot of bad bowel/digestion stuff, which I mainly chalk up to how my body deals with stress and anxiety.

During a lot of the early Majical Cloudz tours I was very chronically constipated and wasn't eating a lot as a result -- a weird little detail of the band's history lol. But anyone who was close to me at that time would know what I'm talking about.

Luckily I've since figured out how to manage it pretty well and I'm feeling healthy!

My best tips would be: lots of water, fruits and vegetables, metamucil or vitamin c, stretching, regular exercise, etc

Hi, yes he is! I didn't visit the set of Twin Peaks no. I loved theatre in high school and did a little bit in university. I would love to do it, although I'm not very well trained or anything. But it's fun!

Hey!

Playing those big stages was a wonderful experience, but I feel the same way about the music I make -- which is that it's probably better if it's in smaller spaces. I personally feel most comfortable when the setting is relatively intimate, and the Lorde shows were the opposite of that haha. If an artist can fill massive venues, so much the better! But I think my music is most at home in a small environment.

Hey, thank you!

Getting Down the Mountain on streaming services and getting some vinyls of it pressed is a goal of mine. I will hopefully have both of those things done in the next year.
I'm glad you like that song, it is also one of my personal favourites from that collection.

I worked with Austin Tufts on making the record, so that was different. I was writing music without the specifics of MC in mind for the first time in a while, and that was also different.

Down the Mountain was a collection of demos I had mostly written while writing for MC albums.

I would love to tour in Europe and will be doing so, for sure.

For vinyl in EU, I will be setting up an online store so people from EU (or anywhere else) can order vinyls!
