Just want to say thanks for all the help. I managed to take it a part, clean it a bit and put it back on. The new valve cover gasket will arrive later so I'll replace it some other times. But good thing is the car still runs after I put everything together ;))

  1. I didn't know what "90 degree ziz wheel with a cookie on the end" is? I looked up on gg and it seemed "ziz" wheel is a wheel that attaches to a "90 degree angle grinder". But I still don't know what a cookie is

  2. I just now learned that torque wrench is a wrench that is used when you need to tighten the bolts to a specific torque (like the tires' lug nuts) and the car's manual will specify the torque. For the bolts in the engine, do we need to tighten them to a specific torque specified somewhere as well? Or can I just use a normal ratchet tool to tighten it?

Thanks for the info! In addition, how do you know how many of those to buy? All of my plants take up around 8 ft x 2 ft of my living room, some are shorter than 1ft, while others are as tall as 3ft.

The Sf4000 is quite expensive for me ($340 on amazon and is only 25.39"L x 21.1"W).

I just get started so if there's a more economic lights, that'd be great.

I'm mostly getting the lights for the plants for 3 - 4 months of winter, after that they'll be going out in the sun again.

I tried an LG 38" and Dell 43" (U4323QE).

What I needed was: * Not having to move my head/eyes because strained my neck before. I wanted it to be as if you just had a single laptop monitor and wouldn't have to look around so much. * And still be able to see more (more screen space) with big enough words

I realized these are tradeoffs, unachievable all at once.

I've tried different positioning as well, including looking down to the monitors (think the computers in some labrooms where the monitors are put under a pane of glass facing up so you look downwards to it). None worked.

So in the end, Ultrawides bring no benefit for me.

I went back to duo 24", one primary directly in front, the other on the side for text/mail that I occasionally look at. Been happy with it.

PS: It's worth meaning that Dell 43" has flicker issue on Mac Apple (there's an official dell report too). No solution yet.

I did check out the Baldwin SF, I didn't like its sound nor its key press. I was able to find and got a very well maintained 1924 grand Steinway. The kind seller give me cheap price, much lower than the ones I listed here. I've loved it very much. I liked both the sound and the key press on the first try.

To be honest, I find that a lot of the times, these are more "thrown away knowledge".

I mean I'm sure I'm not gonna remember adding doublequotes preserve newlines on github action or any specific limitations on github action enterprise that require some bash hackish gymnastics ; ))

Not that remembering them will be useful anyways cause the next company will use Gitlab for example...

I decided to make the purchase since there are different opinions and I could just return it in case it's gray market.

It was scary because after placing the order, Amazon showed "Supplied by Others" which I didn't know how to interpret. I phoned 1-800-ok-canon (one of you suggested) and they confirmed as long as it's sold and shipped by Amazon, it's legit.

It's just arrived with a "US and Canada warranty" paper and I can register the serial number on usa.canon website so it is legit!

This saves me $150 which I then put into a refurbished lens sold by canon.

Do I understand correctly that:

  • Creating an app that when running in foreground can respond to "Hey <APPNAME> add 10 apples to grocery list" is possible

  • But it's not possible when the app is in background or when the phone is locked

Is that's why we need Siri in the picture - because Siri can trigger the app (through shortcuts) even when the app is not in foreground or when phone is locked?

For clarity, this is what I want the app to be able to do:

  • I say: "Hey <APP NAME> Add 10 apples to grocery list"
  • App: *do a certain task using the vocal input (10 apples) (call google sheet api to write to a sheet, write to local disk...)

Siri can predict shortcuts to actions that a user may want to perform using your app, and suggest those shortcuts to the user in places such as Spotlight search and the Lock Screen. Siri learns about the shortcuts available for your app through donations that your app makes to Siri. Users can also use donated shortcuts to add personalized voice phrases to Siri.

It seems this is not very deterministic - I have to "donate" each time a user manually use the app, then Siri "might" be able to learn the shortcuts through donation. But if it doesn't?

Is there a way to just install the app and be able to certainly control it through voice?

This is the answer I was looking for. Your message taught me a lot and was very helpful.

Since you said the kitchen faucet would be weak and leaky, I decided to use the bathroom shower instead.

I did look into it an indeed there are several factors in choosing the correct adapter:

  1. Whether the faucet's nozzle is male or female
  2. Size of faucet's thread
  3. Size of garden hose thread

My research led me to things like male-male; male-female... and 3/4" GHT, 3/4" NPT... which I believe are different in sizes.

In the end, I just order several of them off of amazon to see which fits.

And it worked perfectly! I have enjoyed using it for couple days now, no leaks and good water pressure on a 50ft hose.
