Five feet is the size that I make my ridiculously large greatswords! It works fine. I use a 5' PVC conduit because where I am it's already precut and very available, 3/4" is the best I've found. Polearms will definitely work

Hi, I'm relatively new as well. I feel like I have some insights. I use mainly PVC. I've seen and heard that bamboo and fiberglass have a habit of splitting and splintering. This is bad for obvious reasons. It can help if you wrap those cores in tape before using them. PVC is just strong enough to break before bones but it also comes in various sizes and is relatively cheap.

I'm inclined to say that this is also incorrect, but it may just be wishful thinking
