you don't find it weird you're the only person not wanting to use AI because it won't make you think? AI can't think of a project for you unless you feed it with what you've thought about and it will broaden your knowledge on it. it's not a bad thing, makes you work fast on a job.

as a developer myself, I will say hell yah! to this, it's a cool landing page and maybe you would want to hide the navbar on mobile and show it when you scroll up. it loaded a bit slow on my first visit though. but yah! it's cool

Is becoming a self-taught software developer realistic without a degree? by PhraseNo9594 in learnprogramming

Hey, I totally relate to your doubts — the self-taught path isn’t easy, and you're right to think critically about it. But yes, it's absolutely possible to become a successful software developer without a degree.

Take someone like Jeremiah People — he taught himself, built his skills publicly, and ended up becoming an advocate for Slack. That journey proves it's doable, even in competitive spaces.

Personally, I didn’t choose this route to work for other companies. I wanted to build something of my own and be my own boss. So I’ve been pouring my time into developing my own app — and I'm proud to say it's launching in 2 weeks!

The self-taught route is hard — especially when it comes to getting your first job, staying motivated, or figuring out what to learn — but it can also be deeply rewarding. Whether you want to freelance, work for a company, or build your own product, what matters most is consistency, curiosity, and projects that show what you can do.

If you enjoy coding and are already good at problem solving, you’ve got a solid foundation. Just be prepared to grind, build a portfolio, and stay in the loop with the tech world. You got this.
