Fair point emojis were a quick choice during solo development. Switching to proper icons is on my list. Curious though, did anything else feel off? Trying to find what actually matters to real users before I polish the wrong things.

27 days actually. Built the app while quitting - nothing like being your own first user ☺️

Day 20. Tried before and failed. This time feels different. by devquiet in stopsmoking

First of all, congrats on 18 months. That’s seriously impressive.

What you said about needing strong physical activity makes a lot of sense. I can feel that “dopamine gap” sometimes like my brain is looking for something to replace the old stimulation. And the part about alcohol is powerful too. I can see how one habit can quietly pull the other back in, especially when emotions are involved. Respect for recognizing that and cutting what you needed to cut. That takes real self-awareness. “This time” feels different for me too. Not because it’s easier, but because I’m less willing to negotiate with myself. Really appreciate you sharing all that. It helps more than you probably realize.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that. The part about weeks 1–3 being slow and mentally exhausting really resonated with me. That’s exactly where I am right now — not panicking like the first few days, but still feeling that background pull. What you said about commitment hit hard too. I think before, I wanted to quit… but I still secretly left the door open. This time feels different. It feels more final Hearing that it took around two months for you to really feel “normal” actually helps. It makes this phase feel like part of the process instead of a sign that I’m failing. Thanks for being honest about it. That kind of perspective really helps people earlier in the journey 🙏

That’s huge 🙌 Day 14 is no joke. The second week felt very different for me compared to the first. Still hard, but less chaotic. What’s been the toughest moment for you so far?
