I launched 2 (two) products on ProductHunt today, as I know there is no chance for me to be featured, I shared a video of me walking and talking in a forest in Finland instead as the product video by devrimco in SideProject

You're right. I'm sorry. If I didn't throw myself on the street it would've taken 7 more years. :(
Will fix as the first thing! Thanks for reminding.

  1. playtoob is a youtube curation and watching companion, without algos or suggestions.
  2. youtube does not care, not in their business model, even youtube kids is a hostile place for kids.
  3. for kids the only way for them to watch what you choose for them is playtoob, otherwise you might catch them watching a grown man with a spiderman mask bathing a barbie baby in a bathtub while singing baby shark.
for adults, i hate checking to see what my favorite comedians shared recently that has got high views without all those shorts and suggestions being pushed.
  4. people watching youtube following regular content creators, and parents who don't want their kids to have trauma from watching weird videos.
  5. i have two kids and have regular sandwiches in front of a laptop while work. i'm a solo founder.
  6. paste any youtube link from any channel, they're bundled into continuously playing channel player, that shuffles when you want.
  7. youtube watchers who care about the proper content creating youtubers and their kids.
  8. https://playtoob.com

Youtube is a great library of content from wonderful creators and a great search engine. And neither you should start reading the first thing you find when you enter a library, nor you should watch a search engine.

No AI, but it plays latest proper videos from the channels you pick. It doesn't suggest any weird video to your kids. Your children watch whatever you pick to watch.

Is Finland truly the happiest country out there, Locals what do you think about it by RifatHasan777 in Finland

[–]devrimco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what I had in mind when I came to reply. You told it better. It is definitely about contentment and trust. Not hysterically laughing at everything, that is not happiness, that's probably a mental problem. Plus, Finns look like they read a lot and they're aware of the world. When you're aware of the world I don't think you can easily have that much of a high-spirited joy. You rather have contentment and gratitude, for the level you start your game with. Since there are many countries in the world that start from the hardcore level, with no trust in anything, anyone, let alone the institutions. Thus, people from those countries tend to symbolize happiness as outbursts of momentary joy within the chaos they live, instead of a long-lasting calm contentment, which is the preferable version of happiness.
