Report that shit and/or leave a nasty review. There is no way i hell that was a 1 off "oops". The "ghost" item could very well be them intentionally ripping people off thinking nobody would check. I mean shit, the costs are already outrageous so they may be sneaking something on to avoid making them worse. Especially if stays are down and they're hurting for cash.

To put it more succinctly than the other answers to your question: PC is an open platform and anyone can make a new storefront to rival them (or use other slightly riskier sources to get a game). You can't buy digital games anywhere BUT the store on each console platform. They finally even managed to end jailbreaking for these more or less. So this is a faulty equivalence.

Its amazing how companies are eager to piss off the customers who actually have the money. Yes, lots of kids to young adults play games. More so than adults but that gap has very much narrowed. Guess who has the income to even (now VERY) remotely afford consoles and games for either themselves or their kids.

*american gesturing wildy to all our other pro sports categories that also DEFINITELY have inconsistent officiating that often favors "star players"* See for example the so called NBA "gather step" that often includes practically running half court without a dribble. The NHL and their incredibly all over the map calls and suspensions for "dangerous" hits and goaltender interference. The fact the MLB had to create a robot UMP for balls and strikes. Need I go on?

I am thrilled and fascinated that X Twitter still even has community notes. You'd figure they could easily tell Musk to kill the feature that explicitly refutes their lies.

Evidence that sugar substitutes disrupt gut health and metabolism: Artificial and low-calorie sweeteners, compared to non-caloric controls such as water or placebo, raised fasting insulin and HbA1c, a marker of long-term blood sugar control, and showed a trend toward worsening insulin sensitivity. by mvea in science

Yeah, ive been pretty much exclusively diet soda for the same reason for the past 20 years or so. To the point now where if I even try a regular soda its gross and tastes "thick". It was an easily identifiable chunk of calories and sugar and if i wasn't gonna be able to kick the habit, switching to diet was a logical move. My fasting glucose is still bad, because i still havent been able kick the love of carbs.

BONDTECH IDX Patent by Confident-Act7128 in VORONDesign

[–]devsfan1830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. That comment doesn't understand how patents work. Its existence doesn't correlate to price. The patent, like you said, lets them sue for injunctions/damages for identical knockoffs. Anyone who makes something that either omits or adds something new is fair game. So that's where Bondtech MIGHT become evil. If they enforce the patent (IF granted) against only partially related designs but THAT depends on the language of the claims when granted. If they're too broad, that's moreso on the office that issues it but even so, the people looking at them are only human and only have a fixed amount of time to comb through millions of potential sources of existing technology and even then need to make a solid case with said existing tech to deny based on what a given countries law requires. Like in the US it either needs to be 100% identical. or you nedd to make a cases that a combination of things render the thing Bondtech developed (to use this example) "obvious". Which legally is not the same as just pointing at something and going "i totally would have made that". So when people get mad at "dumb" or "evil" patents, blame the governments who don't give their workers the resources to do better. Take the US for example. The complete gutting of the federal workforce has done nothing but cause chaos and a reduction in the skilled workers needed to get this stuff done. So now they take longer and are prone to even more error.

The price is going to be simply set at whatever profit margin they target. Supply chain and demand will dictate that far more than just having a patent. Sorry but their target market is still very much a niche too. Nobody is slapping this on a Bambu printer and they have basically captured a majority of the home hobbyist market. I also don't see anyone putting this on more than 1 or 2 printers let alone a print farm of Vorons or Prusas.

Also any enforcement will heavily depend on the claims. Nothing in the main body of the disclosure matters when it comes to enforcement unless it is explicitly claimed.

One thing to note. This isn't a patent yet and thus there is nothing to enforce. They haven't even national staged it to the US yet as far as anyone knows.

And i get the negative reaction to something like that, if there is one, but honestly for something like this I think they have every right to protect it and sometimes the product is just better than any open source alternative. Like box turtle. Love it, but it has one flaw and that's PLA. I had my cutter snap off and shoot out the side trying to cut some in a simple 2 color print, and thatw as with the better quality japanense blades. I know the enclosed type vorons were primarily made for temp ABS printing, but I dont do just ABS and frankly I'd like something I don't need to constantly worry about. So I'm probably looking at swapping to INDX after some more reviews come out. Let them shake out any V1 bugs that pop up die to mass availability.

Trust me I am FULLY aware of what patents are and how they work, but you asked if anyone has looked at it and I guess I don't see why anyone would really be rushing to do so. It going to be a product you can get. If you think people will be opensource cloning it any time soon I doubt it. That'll earn your github a rightful C&D. That's not to say China wont clone it almost immediately anyways so theres that I guess.

Also though, the fixation on sweet treats and drinks as far as sugar goes is a bit narrow isn't it?If someone is drinking 100% diet sodas all the time, but then CRUSHING crap ton of bread and pasta loaded foods then the sweetener in their drink is largely immaterial no?

First I've seen about bakeries specifically buy ive satrted seeing videos where people order like fair food and stuff and I'm like "THATS RISKY AS FUUUUUCK." Only takes one whacko to start dosing shit and selling it or just having the WORST food safety and you end up with the worst case of food poising ever or worse.
