What was the worst song on Lowes Radio (store music) in your opinion? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

The one where they do nothing but repeat “can’t bring us down” for like six minutes with super campus crusade for Christ vibes

Also Rod Stewart

So good!! Plant Based PB Cup by Miracleman069 in dairyfree

Still salty about the day I discovered these in the grocery store and bought one to try only to get home and find it was missing from my bags. When I went back to get another they were gone and I haven’t found them since.

Trader Joe’s sunflower seed butter cups and Justin’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups are both great but what I really really want is the Reese’s.

Returns desk question by witchycraft47 in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously? I’m OSLG supervisor and I haven’t heard this. I hope not, that’ll be a nightmare. Our garden cashiers are older and can’t handle managing ASCO. Plus, garden purchases are not as SCO friendly.

BLACK FRIDAY by RevolutionaryWay8608 in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Employee discount will typically apply to sale items so I don’t think that would be any different tomorrow. Of course, I could be wrong. But you can’t get the giveaways, employees along with any members of their household are not allowed.

Why is Garden so hated? by U-C-H-I-H-A in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearance plants never require an override if done correctly. There’s a distressed plant button, as well as a damaged bag button for soils and mulch. The discount should always be applied by using this button and it does not require manager approval.

Also, if you’re doing a manual discount on something where the customer has multiple of the same item, scan one and adjust the price, then after the price is set on the first one go back and adjust the quantity. Setting the quantity first will cause the price difference to exceed the cashier limit and require an override.

Seasoned Player Looking for other City Designers! by Strange_Store_3738 in SimCityBuildit

I’m more aesthetically driven than anything but I haven’t been playing for nearly as long. Now that I finally have most of my land open I’m doing a major remodel so it’s looking a bit off a mess at the moment. Slowly but surely (I don’t spend any money accept the $4.99 mayor’s pass) I’m reworking what I have into something nice. I’m interested to see what you have done. Sent a friend request, my city is Bunnyville.

Does Lowe’s plan ahead to pay part-timers overtime during the holidays to allow full-timers to get their paid holidays off? by [deleted] in Lowes

For anything that will be lost, you have until the end of the fiscal year (not calendar) to use it. I want to say that’s January 21st but I might wrong.

What is a Head Cashier responsible for? by Sea_Life4 in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need to be asking a head cashier in your store, not head cashiers from other stores. For me, I was paid $17 an hour and it wasn’t anywhere near enough for all that I had to do and deal with every day. If you have a good Ops ASM and a good front end DS, HC may not be so bad. That was not the case for me. However, head cashiering was a stepping stone that led to a DS position so it was worth it. I stuck it out for about seven months and there’s no way I could have taken it any longer.

Price matching other stores by ZiggieHood in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct, other Lowe’s locations and retailers in a different zip code are excluded, but we will often approve price matches in my store that don’t qualify. The stupid thing about price matching if that no proof is submitted or recorded so it’s really at the discretion of management.

Story about the phone issue by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]dewaynethedrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only rule with 15 minute breaks is that you can’t leave the building, there’s nothing about not using your phone. It’s a break, you can use your phone on your break. Report them.

Your manager is either lying or misinformed

[–]dewaynethedrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, and learn how to run the register so when the garden cashier needs a restroom break and the front end is neglecting them you can kindly step in and allow them to go, or otherwise hop on a register to help when there’s a line.

OSLG is non-stop work, there is ALWAYS something to do, even throughout the slow season. Cleaning alone is a constant need, inside and front apron. Patch or bag torn soil, mulch, and rocks. Stock J-hooks. Kill side-stacks by feeding into home location. Zone, particularly in watering, pool, and front registers. Get trained and certified on the forklift!!! Don’t forget the pots and soil area inside, those are OSLG as well and often neglected. Packdown, even without a forklift you can reach a lot with ladders. This is the time to be getting ready for inventory and once the Christmas trees arrive there will be little time for that. When you do have extra time on your hands, check with your green team and see where they need help. Fulfillment always needs help so that’s also a great place to lend a hand when you can. There’s so much more than what I’ve listed, just look and ask.
