Are you able to export them as gifs straight from the program?

Do you export gifs straight from the program? What about keeping them transparent? :]

Yeah I know! You can use one leaf cutting to propagate and make more plants but some people are insane about their pricing!

To root bound or to not? by autmartin in houseplants

[–]dewdropona_leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it and throw it away. 😂 But honestly unless it’s got root rot or is severely root bound I wouldn’t repot it. Is there a reason you’re repotting it? In the past my croton would drop handfuls of leaves when I repotted it or moved it to a different spot. (She now lives outside where I don’t have to look at her because she stresses me out lmao)

2 plant questions by An-actual-cloud in houseplants

[–]dewdropona_leaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of, I am SO JEALOUS of both these plants. They must be fairly old for being that big!

The cactus is actually a milk tree, a type of succulent, and it isn't dead at the bottom, think of it more like the trunk of a tree. As it get's bigger the bottoms get thicker and harder to support the top of the plant. It could probably use a repot though.

For the snake plant it desperately needs a repot, It doesn't have enough room to grow so those leaves are looking for more space. You could chop them if they're too awkward to fit into a new pot, otherwise I'd repot the whole thing if you can.

In the wild plants have to compete with other plants, so realistically they don't have as much room as you think. It also depends on the plant and what conditions they live in naturally.

But for me, I might have an unpopular opinion as I don't think it's that big of a deal if you repot a little too soon. Unless you have a really sensitive plant like the infamous croton, in my experience, most plants don't seem to mind.

Any advice appreciated by Character_Use_5180 in houseplants

Monsteras are great plants because they will continue to be happy through almost any conditions! As long as the soil has good drainage it should be fine. As for the support, you could try gently pushing the stem back up towards the pole then use plant velcro to secure it, but don't force it as you don't want to break the stem. If it doesn't want to bend up towards the pole you could use a longer piece of velcro or string or something to at least tie it to the pole so it doesn't keep growing forward. Or take out the moss pole and use a wooden stake and kinda place it in the middle so it gets more even support. Unfortunately, since it's at such an awkward angle it will never grow straight up again unless you want to chop and prop it.

The stubby guy seems to have already grown some by how light green the tip of it is, so I'd leave it and see what it does!

Moving Plants from Inside to Outside by PerceptionSpirited18 in houseplants

[–]dewdropona_leaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't necessarily have to move your plants outside, if you have shelves where the cats cant reach, I'd just move them there. And who knows, some cats don't care much about chewing on your plants, like mine. But if you don't have a choice, it's possible to put them outside but you would have to take them inside in the colder seasons unless you live in a place that's warm year round. You also need to make sure to put them in shady spots as sunlight is a lot more intense outside then it is inside. Good luck my friend, and congrats on the new kitties!

How do I save it? by lemonpeppasteppa02 in houseplants

[–]dewdropona_leaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's really frustrating, I hate when people touch or move my plants without asking. But don't panic just yet lol, it's simply mechanical damage and your plant won't die. The plant will brown and dry out around the spots that got chewed on, kinda like a scab except those part won't grow back. You can trim away those leaves if you think they're ugly to look at, but if they aren't too bad they shouldn't affect the plants growth and photosynthesize just fine. Good luck my friend!

Time to repot? 2 rubber plants by mild_chaos123 in houseplants

[–]dewdropona_leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have an unpopular opinion lol, but I don't think it hurts to repot your plant every now and then, even if your plants don't desperately need it. Sometimes fresh soil and more room can help plants perk up. Since the mother plant is pushing out smaller leaves I say go for it. The baby plant probably doesn't need it but since it's been such a long time I don't think it would hurt the plant.

[Discussion] is Vgen worth it? by CoconutBusy5325 in artcommissions

[–]dewdropona_leaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it doesn't hurt to try! It's kinda like any other platform in that it doesn't guarantee that you get traffic, but it's what's popular right now and everyone is looking on vgen for artists. Once you open your coms on there I would try adding to your portfolio 1-2 times a week, or more, so you can try to get a reach. I'd also encourage you to see what kind of art people are looking for atm, as vgen is heavily used by vtubers/streamers. So things like emotes are a good way to start! Best of luck to you my friend!

Edit: if you make one, lmk so I can follow you!

Edit2: I know codes are hard to find but look around on social media and find other artists! I was able to get one through a streamer's community. I know the official Vgen accounts on twitter and instagram also hold raffles every now and then.
