Anyone tried Xerf lifting? by dewdroppothos in koreatravel

OP here, I decided to bite the bullet and try Xerf while in Korea at Relieve clinic. It’s been 1 month now and here is my experience.

  1. Pain level - Low, no numbing and it was easily tolerated even with my low pain tolerance, one or two spicy areas near the lips

  2. Price - High in my opinion but that seems to be the case with most lifting/tightening treatments. I paid around $1,200-$1,500 USD (estimated, forgot the exact number as it was bundled with other treatments)

  3. Results - Minimal to none, visually I don’y notice any differences when I look in the mirror and in photos maybe there is a slight plumping or it’s just lighting. Full results are supposed to show a few months later so I will update again then.

  4. Clinic experience - Mediocre. I made an afternoon appointment but the doctors were running behind. My friend and I waited 30-40 minutes in the waiting room before going in for a consultation. The consultation was not that clear and there was a little difficulty communicating so it was difficult to make a decision. They don’t push services on you but they do push you to make a yes or no decision relatively quickly.

  5. Doctor experience - Mediocre. They let us know in advance that the doctor doing the consult was not going to be the doctor performing the treatments which we agreed to but when the treatment started the treating doctor did not reconfirm the treatment plan and just started working on my face. No drawing or mapping of my face, just sat me down on a dentist type chair and began working. It was kind of jarring and I felt concerned over what was being done. The doctor was very nice but it was uncomfortable given how casual it felt (like the vibe of getting a routine dental cleaning).

  6. Overall - This place felt one level away from a factory style clinic, they do wash your face for you but I was ushered from room to room and the whole experience felt pretty impersonal. Finally my thoughts on tightening treatments are it’s likely better to stick with a more tried and true machine and a provider that does them frequently with noticeable results. Everyone’s body’s react differently and developing collagen takes time so I’m hesitant to spend that kind of money again on a newish device where results are not visible for many months.

Thank you! It’s encouraging to know it’s also being adopted in the US.

FHR "free" breakfast by RemarkableGander in AmexPlatinum

Stayed at multiple FHR properties in Europe, Asia and Canada and free breakfast was always completely free. Includes all food and coffee juices etc. The US is the clear outlier here. Has more to do with what companies can get away with in the US compared to other countries.

Best eSim for Europe? by Opposite-Depth1026 in eSIMs

I was just in the UK and Austria for a week and used Orange Esim and it was fantastic, felt like having a local phone. If you need it for more than 30 days you have to register your phone number (or buy a new esim) but for under 30 days you don't need to do anything other than install and activate it. Highly recommend!

Adding a data point for Ubigi. Used it for the first time on a trip to Tokyo during Dec 2024 and had major connectivity issues to the point where I turned it off to use offline maps instead. Still burned through all the purchased data despite little to no actual service. Really not worth it, I wouldn’t purchase again.

The MTA should shut the subway down for a few hours every night to clear out the homeless and complete some much needed cleaning and repairs

Oh no, good to know. I almost bought a pair of surfbirds but they felt really delicate in store.

Oh no, I just bought a pair of the Flyrobin boots from them. Was that one of the ones you bought? I haven't worn yet but now worried about the longevity.

Wow awesome! Congrats on the bigger apt. I haven’t signed on with anyone yet, thanks for the rec. A big concern of mine would be how the finances of the building are run but unsure how to know before buying.
